General Anaesthetic?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me?! This isnt really baby related, so sorry if Ive posted in the wrong place!

There is a good chance that I will need to go into hospital in the New Year to have my gall bladder removed. I know this isnt a big operation at all and is done via keyhole surgery but I am absolutely petrified of going under general anaesthetic! When I had my c-section I was given a spinal block so was awake!

Basically I am sooo scared that I will go under and never wake up and my baby will be left without a mum! I know that is sooooo ridiculous, I know it is, but I cant stop worrying about it!

Is general anaesthetic safe?! Does anyone else ever feel such irrational fears?! x x x
