Anyone worried about swine flu and what are you doing to prevent it??

Hi ladies, I am sitting here coughing, sneezing and have a sore throat but no temp as yet, I have a 6 week old and I cant bear to think she may get this or worse swine flu, I have been reading and they say bf is the best thing to do due to antibodies but just wondering are you staying in more or what are you doing to try and prevent lo from getting this horrible thing?

Hi me, my hubby and our kids including our 7 month old baby have swine flu and really there isnt anything you can do to prevent it. When we go shopping we use antibacterial wipes on the trolley handles and seats, we cough and sneeze into tissues and wash our hands etc but we all somehow got it. I wish now I had have stayed in and kept my kids off school because this is awful.... I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. I hope you havent got it and hope your lo doesnt get it either xx

I was supposed to be going to a gym class on Wednesday and Em was going into the creche. Have decided that for the next wee while i'm not going to put Em there. Makes me sound like a freak but I just don't feel in control of what she is doing there or the hygiene levels even though I am sure they are fine.

We got Darwin an H1N1 shot, and we ask anyone who comes over to wash their hands before they touch anything/anyone in the house. Other than that, we're really not doing anything. Hubby works at a college and university, so he's constantly surrounded by crowds. He came down with what we're pretty sure was H1N1 two weeks ago and is mostly over it now (still coughing a bit), but so far Darwin and I are fine *fingers crossed*

We haven't done more than anything we normally do during flu season...lots of washing hands. That's really it. I'm thinking about starting them on elderberry syrup too..but I dont think you can do that with young babies. We aren't nursing anymore

I avoid all crowded places, dont mix too much and use gel all the time. sounds boring, and it is but i have to do my best to keep Rose well as she is still little.

Saying that, only so much is in your control.

We ask everyone who comes round to wash their hands and I have been avoiding crowded places! We keep visitors to mostly very close family and friends! It might seem a bit over the top but I will do anything to help prevent my LO from getting it!
