we have a couple of songs that we sing all the time but theyre getting a bit boring and i need some inspiration lol
we always sing ''clap her hands a daddy coming down the wagon way, a pocket full of money and a cart load of hay'' - the clap hands song, she loves that one haha
then we have ''our leyla sells fish, three and eightpence a dish, dont buy em, dont buy em, they stink when you fry em'' lol im sure my mam told me that song was written about a man who worked on darlington market and obv had a fish stall lol
and we sing ''our leyla she is a funny'un, shes got a face like a pickled onion, shes got a nose like a squashed tomato, and legs like two pegs''
oh then theres ''one sunday morning lampton went a fishing in the wear, he caught a fish upon his hook it did look very queer, whatever kind of fish it was, young lampton couldnee tell, he didnee wanna take it home so he threw it down a well, ah wish lads, hide ya gobs and i'll tell yees all an awful story, wish lads, hide ya gobs and i'll tell ya bout the worm'' LMAO that was so hard to put into writing!!
i think thats all we have, oh then theres the scouse clap hands song which we dont sing to her very often cos i prefer mine haha
they sound like great songs. I sing row row your boat, daisy daisy (whilst doing the waltz with her in my arms- calms her sometimes), wind the bobbin up, follow me (pop song, she used to chill out in the womb when we played it on my tummy, now it calms her if she is screaming!!!)
my lo seems to like me singing along to take that and james blunt! I also sing The Rose and A whole New World but without a CD. I'm thinking about buying a disney songs CD tho as she like that sort of thing!
Row, row, row your boat
Grand Old Duke of York
Wind the Bobbin up
London Bridge
Wheels on the Bus
Incey Wincey Spider
and whatever I know the words to on the radio!
The song that seems to shut Dylan up is the "Ugly Duckling" song, haha!
We sing all the normal ones too, and I talk a load of rhyming rubbish to random tunes.
Row the Boat, with a whole load of random verses we learnt at swimming, lol: .....gently up the shore, if you see a lion there don't forget to roar......gently up the river, if you see a polar bear don't forget to shiver......gently up the creek, if you see a little mouse, don't forget to squeak.....I'm sure there were more but I can't think of them!
Grand Old Duke of York
Pat a cake
If you're happy and you know it
Wheels on the bus
Horse song: This is the way the ladies ride, trittity trot, trittity trot; This is the way the gentlemen ride, clippity clop clippity clop; This is the way the farmers ride gallopy gallopy gallopy gallopy aaaaand into the ditch!! (with bouncy actions).
