My LO hasnt poo'd in a week!!

My LO usually goes a couple day in between dirty diapers but now she hasnt poo'd in a week! I can tell her tummy is bothering her and its hard as a rock. Ive tried apple juice, karo syrup and even a suppository...and nothing at all. Her dr doesnt act concerned but I dont like see her in pain....what do I do??

Have you changed her feeds in any way lately? That often affects their poo-rate! Offering cooled, boiled water between feeds (about an ounce at a time) can help. Also, if you're formula feeding, try using cartons for a few feeds rather than powder as the preservative in the cartons also acts as a mild, natural laxative. Gently massage her tummy in a clockwise motion at regular intervals to help things along. Also, you can gently pump her legs in a cycling motion to help get things moving. I would go back to your dr if there is no change soon.

Hope she feels better quickly.

I used to find orange juice did the trick when my eldest was like this. (Pure orange, diluted with a little water so it wasn't so strong!)

Is she on solids yet? Have you done anything differently in regards to milk/food etcetera?

Obviously it is totally your decision but if she doesn't need the baby food yet I would leave it for another few weeks. It can be very difficult for their digestive systems to deal with early on. Fingers crossed you get some movement soon!
