Yup, my LO is on both. The domperidone constipates her, but the ranitidine seems to work - but it needs to be adjusted with every growth spurt. Still, it helped a lot! Anything else you want to know specifically?

Lakai is on R. And funny enough I take the other for keeping my milk supply up, so he gets it in a round about way too. We have had no troubles with either.

Joe is on both, and they've worked wonders for his reflux. He does get the odd bit constipated every now and again, but not enough to be a real problem. We started to wean him off them a few weeks ago, but the crying started again, and he was so sick (again!) So he's back on the full dose for a bit longer. We found them to be a lifesaver! xx

Thanks for your replies, we've only just started taking it yesterday so not much happening yet.

i'm sure i'll have some more questions soon but for now just wondered:

how old your lo was when you started and how long you think you will use it for?

also did your lo have trouble putting on weight before it? did this improve?

main thing i've noticed is the crying out in pain has stopped but now he's constantly hungry! which is good as he needs to put on weight but my nipples are sore!

My Lo was on them by 7 weeks - it was pretty obvious that she was refluxing, but they wanted her to get to 8 weeks old before giving her meds. I am a bit miffed because babies who are a lot younger have taken both of these meds (and I am taking domperidone too!). The pediatrician thinks she'll be on it until she is at least 8 months old.

She had normal weight gain too. The constant hunger is from the domperidone - it helps the stomach empty faster Good luck with your feeding! Hope your nipples aren't too raw!

We're on Ranitidine and at the moment, it's not all that effective, but the doctor basically told us this was the final thing to try so we're sticking it out for now hoping for an improvement. What does do the Domperidone do? Because not one of the 3 doctors we've been to has mentioned it!

they seem to be working, hes not possetting such large amounts and he is happier after feeding. next step is to see how much weight he puts on. i do feel bad giving him medication at such a young age, but he is much happier on it. we are seeing the pediatrician again in 6 weeks, will be interesting to see how long we will have to keep him on them.

i've been told to give it to him 3 times a day before feeding via a syringe. is this the same way you do it? do you sterilise the syringes? i guess they would survive the electric steriliser but not sure about boiling them.
