Does your newborn have awake days?

My LO is two weeks old now and is usually a great sleeper but today she's been up for ages!! She's been up since about 1pm and has been on/off fussy all day!! She's fed, changed, everything but just won't settle down to sleep. Any ideas? Does/did your LO just have awake days now and again? Any help appreciated. X

My little guy will sometimes not settle down well for a nap on the odd day. I usually try a bit more activity which usually wears him down and then he'll get sleepy and eventually crash.

Ruby had days as a newborn where she would not sleep at all! I have no idea why.

Everyday!!! Just kidding, He really does only have about 3 days where he takes naps like he should, but the other days he fights so much to sleep and not sure why. I just rock him and sing to him to get him to sleep. Sometimes it takes an hour or so, but he finally will go down.

Yup! This morning for example, she woke up at 7am and didn't want to take a nap until 1pm. She was just up, looking around and cooing.

Thomas is three and a half weeks now and he gets days when all he seems to want to do is sleep and then at other times, he wants to stay awake and fights sleep until he is overtired and then it is a nightmare trying to get him to go to sleep. OH is better at getting him off to sleep than me actually, I think he sees me and thinks 'oh I must be hungry, that's why I'm upset' and then tries to feed but then isn't hungry so gets even more frustrated! If that makes sense!
