it depends how old the bubba is?? my lo got her 1st when she was 6 months but started teething at 4 months. you could try letting the baby suck on ice cold melon. my hv told me to do this and it give them some fluid as well, cause my lo would refuse food and drink. and you can try liquid anbesol? its stronger than bonjela but really helped my lo. and if all else fails some calpol. i hope this helps xxxxx

I recommend Ashton and Parsons teething powder, it's the best I've used for Seren and really seems to settle her x

We use baby Orajel for instant pain relief, and give Darwin ibuprofen at the same time - it starts working by the time the Orajel has worn off. For his REALLY awful days (he's one of the worst teethers I've ever seen/heard of) we give him ibuprofen every 6 hours and acetaminophen every 4 hours, staggering the doses.

If LO is refusing to eat or drink even with pain control, you can try offering milk or formula just after he falls asleep. Darwin went on a five-day hunger strike recently where he was in such pain he wouldn't even nurse, let alone touch solids. We couldn't even touch his cheeks or chin he hurt so much. We used a bulb syringe to drop milk into his mouth without touching him, and when he stopped opening up for more we'd rock him to sleep and then I'd breastfeed him once he was drowsy. It was a horrible week, but we got through it. Good luck, I hope he feels better soon.

hopefully the amber anklet we have on him, plus his teethers and cold cloths, will help him through his teething.
