Any ideas to help a sore tummy and wind? She can't sleep...

Aisling usually goes to sleep at 7am and she hasn't slept at all I think she's uncomfortable because she's farting constantly which is unlike her. I've given her calpol and nurofen and we're rubbing her tummy but nothing seems to be helping.

Any ideas? I'd like her to get some sleep at some point tonight!

I would try gripe water/infacol or even cooled boiled water.
Try laying her face down accross your knees and rubbing her back.

Not nice trapped wind is really sore poor wee mite hope it clears up soon x

in baby massage we're taught a couple of things to help ease trapped wind and aid digestion:

- cycle their legs
- put the soles of their feet together then bend legs up so they rest on belly button and gently rock baby from side to side
- lay hand on tummy (without pushing down - just use weight of your hand) and rub in clockwise direction
- lay hand on tummy (again without pushing down) and gently move stomach from side to side (your hand should stay in one place not slide over skin...so you're physically moving babys stomach a little, not sliding your hand back and forwards across their skin if you get what i mean)

Thanks ladies. Thing is she'll fall asleep on our laps, just not in her bed so maybe the wind is just a coincidence and not what's keeping her awake? Have no idea what to do at this stage to get her to sleep, might take her to bed with me tonight although that's never worked in the past. We haven't had a night like this since, well ever!

if shell fall asleep with u it dusnt neccesarily mean its not wind, i think lieing on their backs is one of the most uncomfortable positions wen ther windy coz it all jus sits on their chests/tummy.
i find lifting up his legs like u do wen changin nappies helps tommy get rid of his, that and gently pushing them 4ward 2wards his tummy at the same time. Lol i learnt hat through many accidents durin nappy changes, has worked every time(id leave the nappy on now tho lol). Gripe water seems to rlly settle his tummy (even if he dusnt like the taste).
good luck, hope she feels better xx
