Power cut

I was woken by LO last night wanting his feed to find we had had a power cut. Luckily my OH was here, I'm BFding (so don't need kettle or microwave) and we could find a torch (wind-up one). It isn't easy changing a nappy in torchlight.

Just thought that it might be worth mentioning in case it happens to anyone else. I'll make sure that i'm better prepared in future.

I really hadn't considered a situation like this, thanks for sharing! I suppose it would be a good idea to have some steri-bottles and ready made formula for situations like this. Nappy changes don't sound fun in the dark, imagining missing a bit!

ugh yes, we've had two power cuts since LO arrived. luckily we have a big stash of candles (which we put safely out of the way!) and each time, i'd just finished sterilising bottles and we keep a supply of formula in cartons just in case. i'm considering buying one of those daft torches that you fasten to your head though!!!

Oh wow, I hadn't thought about power cuts and I'm bottle feeding! I don't ever keep a sterile bottle free, I just sterilise one bottle at a time when I need them...

We had a temporary power cut this afternoon. Luckily we had sterilised bottles for the next 8 hours worth of milk and we always use ready made anyway. I guess there is always cold water sterilising in that situation...

Yeah, I think I may buy some of the tablets or whatever you need to do the cold water sterilise, just incase.

We normally sterilise in the microwave cos I hate the smell of Milton, but we do have a packet of it just in case!
