| The midwifes advise that you bath a newborn once a week and top and tail every morning etc. I bath my wee one every night with the odd night i don't, the reason for this is it has got him into a good routine of knowing that he gets a bath and fed and then bed for the night and he often last from 11pm till 5/6 the next morning. I have read mums on here who don't bath every night and only once or twice a week but their children still have a good bedtime routine. It is your choice totally i dont think there is a right or wrong, just look out for dry skin etc if you do choose to bath him every night, i have used nothing in his bath water as advised till 6 weeks and my wee ones skin has no problems x | | | | Status: Offline

| We were told every night is a good idea to get them into a routine. If you use a mild bubble bath (or none at all) it should avoid the skin drying out but you can always lotion them up if you need to! | | | | Status: Offline

| I top and tailed Ellis every day when she was little and bathed her once/twice a week. I didn't use anything in the bath soapwise, occasionally i'd use olive oil if her skin was dry. I didn't start daily baths until she was older and that was for fun/bedtime routine (about 4/5 months.)
Incidentally i had no problems with her bedtime prior to introducing a daily bath. | | | | Status: Offline

| at this age i gave zane mostly top and tails each night then when i started to bath him it was every 3 nights. u dont really need to use soaps at this age but i found simple products great also asda own brand then after a wash or bath id say use olive oil instead of baby oil as some babies can react to it and olive oil keeps the skin softer
then from 5 months we started bathing him everynight as part of a routine. | | | | Status: Offline
