think my daughter may have chickenpox

I think my 16 year old may have chicken pox she has never had them before (nor have I) though my hubby has had them twice. I'm just worried that if she does Jacob will end up catching them too - what do you do if a baby gets them?

oh hun what a nightmare. I dont have any advise for you unfortunately except to phone your GP. I dont know if this reassures you or not but I had measles as a tiny baby and was absolutely fine afterwards. I was pretty sick but not hospitalised or anything. I'm sure your GP will be able to advise you better. I really hope neither of you catch it

i am sure there is an age for newborns that wont get the chickenpox, but maybe this is only if the mother has had them??? don't quote me on it but i know when i had the chicken pox at 14 there my little cousin was just born and my mum said because he was only two weeks old he wouldn't catch them. I must say i work in a gp surgery and the youngest child to ever have chicken pox has been 3+ months. Phone your GP for advice in the morning x

It is uncommon for babies to get them and if they do it usually isn't severe.

I'd say the main concern is you. Chicken Pox in adults is not nice at all so if you haven't had it before, you need to be careful!
