Dr Brown's...AAHHHHHH has any1 got these??

Hi hope ur all ok n ur new babys..

Iv been using Dr Browns bottles for the past 2 weeks now as my babys had bad colic..they are workin but they leak most times i use them n its driving me MAD ...

Iv followed the rules by not tightening them too tight when heating them up and to keep at room temp but they still seem to leak up the tube n out the sides at the top during n after feeding... had to change her 3 times last nyt n make up 3 bottles...

Is anyone using them and is it happening to u?? or any tips on how to stop it happening??

thanks xxx

hi there!

We use the same bottles and they do leak from time to time.

Make sure the yellow filter is snug, there's a hole which you slot in the tube that side first.

I've had the milk all over me & Joe too but I think the bottles really work!

good luck, hun

I've noticed that heating them with the middle section in causes this and if the milks too hot to begin with, don't know whether the rubber thing reacts to the heat/steam but it's best to leave it out to heat & shake then before u feed put it in. Be sure it's firmly in place & don't over tighen the bottles.
Xx

I'm using these as well but they haven't leaked yet. I dont heat them with the vent or anything on though, I bought some travel caps from amazon for them, I'm naughty and make the bottles up in advance and store them in the fridge with the travel caps on and then loosen them to heat the bottle. I keep the vent and nipples etc in a cold water steriliser and put it together once the bottle is warm.

Have a look in the tube from time to time while you're feeding, sometimes Brady gets a bit over excited and too much milk ends up in the tube. If it's more than about 3/4 full of milk unscrew the collar a bit and the milk will go down.

Don't know if this helps but hope u get it sorted

Mines very rarely leak, but I always leave the lid untightened so the milk doesn't rise up the tube when I heat them. You need to tighten them once warm though and check the orange section is on snuggly. When you tip the bottle up check the milk in the inner tube doesn't go over the middle orange pipe because thats the air vent and it will just leak out the sides, plus they won't work at they're supposed to. Hope this helps!

I've only had them leak when I've not screwed the top on tight enough.

I guess shaking them up or heating them up may make milk come up the tube? (I always roll the bottle between my hands rather than shaking.)

mine leak from time to time and it is really annoying; I have found though make sure the top of the bottle the rim part that the lid gets screwed onto has no formula on it, it seems like if there is anything slight on it that somehow the milk leaks out.. or at least from what I have found
