Oh my love - I once tipped the pushchair forwards to get it out the door and tipped my nephew out head first onto the concrete - I'd forgotten to do up the buckles. We all do stupid things and the main thing is he's okay. Big hug.

Firstly, we have ALL been there and done something that we later realise is stupid. Hindsight is a great thing eh? Parenst are not actually perfect you know

Secondly, with any head trauma you are in for a long wait at A&E unless the child has been vomiting/passed out/bleeding (then your in for a longer wait but the doctor will see them quicker, then you will usually be reviewed every 4 hours). It's common for them to leave you for a while. Doesn't mean that you are a lesser priority, it's just a way to observe the child over a period of time. True, they could have gotten a nurse to explain that first. We have been told that they will leave us in the 'nursery' or children's area for a time before being seen by a doctor, buzz if there is any change. If you went in and told them what happened, that he screamed and then started to fall asleep, they will know that he is probably fine. You worry if they went quiet!

What a hard day hun! totally know what you mean though Brianna was sitting on the couch the other day and i took 2 steps away and she fell onto the floor and got a big bruise. Took her to the ER and thought the same as you infant head injury would surely be priority but no we were there for at least 3 hours before we ever saw a dr

It's easy to look back afterwards and realise the danger of something that seems perfectly okay at the time. Don't feel bad I do exactly the same thing with our bouncer, so a big thanks for the warning.
