I need everyones advice and experiences with Breast Pumps

Heres my story again..

I gave birth on 28/7/2009. From the start I tried very hard with BF, but I was supplementing with formula too because LO was still very hungry even after hours of BF him. Anyway, I was BF, pumping and supplementing for 2.5 months now. I recently found fenugreek, tried it but didn't help.Recently I got my period back. From that day forward I only express 1 oz per day. I still try to BF but I always supplement.I tried everything, really. I've read a lot of books, I am on a healthy diet, I BF then pumping, etc. I have also done power pumping for 4 days in a row being in the couch 24 hours a day and just BF and pumping. I am really desperate because I want so badly to BF him but I didn't do a good start from the clinic I gave birth (they didn't help at all with BF, they were just giving formula)

After trying everything, I want every day to give up.. but something holds me back..

I decided to change my cheap breast pump and try again to increase my milk because now everyday is less and less.. In my country they don't rent hospital grade pumps so I have to buy from ebay..

I found Medella swing which has an affordable price.. Will it help me increase my milk supply from that point forward? The Medella Pump in style is good too because is double pump but is more expensive. What would be the best choice to increase milk supply?

I'm sorry I've not really had this experience but wanted to say that you might get more responses from the breastfeeding room. Good luck!

The Pump In Style would be your best choie if you can't get a hospital grade pump. It definitely needs to be a double pump.

There are several IBCLC in Israel, i that too far to travel? You could get in touch with one who would know more about what is available in your area:

Are you buying used pumps? This has a risk of contamination, as well as a risk of getting a poor/worn out motor.

No, I am searching for New, sealed in box pumps cause i don't trust used ones..

Israel is too far from here

Manual pumps may be more effective in expressing more milk in less time but I don't think they would help to increase my milk supply.

I have to say after 3 months experience with hospital pumps and the medela pumps, the medela pumps agreed with me more. But everyones different.

What is definatley the key is making sure you have the right SIZE of shield. My medela one was too small so I used a larger attachment and this did help me with my supply.

Double pumping can help too. Taking Brewers Yeast is said to help to. Or herbal things like fennel tea.

You're also going to find, if you exclusively express, is that you will hate manual pumps after a while. Its a lot of work, but good luck to ya!

Pumping on the hour for 4 hours in a row can help too.
