baby bringing up milk..

just a quick question..

My bubba is 11days old. I last fed him at 7 but before that he had abit of bottle at 5. At 7 he was crying for a bottle so i gave him one and he finished a full 3oz bottle. About half an hour ago i picked up him from his boncer and he was fine but 5mins later he was sick everywhere, but like it came out in loads! then i cleaned him up and he did it 2x more. Its bright yellow [he had infacol before his 7pm feed]. He didnt cry or anything and is fine now, But im sure he brought up his 3oz feed and more. Any idea what this could be?! OH made me feel like crap saying it was my fault and i shouldnt of fed him [what else can you do when hes crying for a bottle?] and that i made him sick?!

It wasn't your fault!! Its perfectly normal for young babies to be sick. They are still adjusting to being outside, and eating. I'm sure he is fine

hey hunny dont panic its more than likely he had wind and it was under the feed which in turn brought it up. He'll be fine just feed him when he lets you know he's hungry next he'll most likely want a wee nap after being sick xx

Vomitting is totally normal and not your fault. Most babies vomit from time to time and spit up frequently. Just like the other moms said!

I just wanted to add -- the only thing to watch for is a pattern. On RARE occassions, the vomitting will continue and then you need to address it. If after a full 1-2 days, your baby is STILL vomitting after every feed, then contact a doctor. This is especially the case if the vomitting gets worse and/or becomes projectile (shoots across the room -- literally). Vomitting large amounts after every meal (especially if baby is hungry again right away) can be a sign of other conditions like milk allergy or pyloric stenosis. However, this is rare and not likely the case with your baby! But something to keep in the back of your mind.

Seems like you've got it sorted now but my LO was a very sicky baby at that age and midwife told me that when they are tiny they don't recognise being full yet so can be a little greedy. He may have needed a little top up but kept on going because he didn't know he was full x
