Help-can't LO of my shoulder

I don't know what to do to break the habit, i can't do anything all day, he wants to be carrier on our shoulders all the time, and we can't be sitting down, we've got to move or he cries. If we put him down the screaming starts. Help!

I think Amelia was like this when she was that age. I'm sure your LO will grow out of it. Maybe try distracting him by putting him on the floor or rocker with toys while you sit next to him so he knows you're close by. I think when babies are that age their vision isn't fully developed so they can't watch youwhen you're far away or play with toys etc. Don't know if this is any help... I hope you're okay.

I don't think that it is just about being close, he doesn't like being on po laps or any other position, just the shoulder one. It's very strange as he can't even see our faces like that. I'm very tiered

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this; David was super clingy from about 6 weeks through 3 1/2 months! If he wasn't being nursed he was crying. I don't know what advice I can give other than to wait it out... I know how tiring (so, SO tiring) it can be!

Have you tried putting him in a sling? That was the only other thing our LO liked at that age. When he was crying we would put him in a sling and walk, and that would soothe him to sleep. It's a pain, but usually once they're out you can just wear them and get on with your day. Or at least it was that way with David.

At any rate, good luck, hon! Know that there are and will continue to be many women who are suffering right along with you!

It must be a name thing then, my baby's name is also David. I did put him on a front carrier today, so I could get something done in the house, it did work for a while. Thank you for your support

Does he do it at certain times of the day? My LO does this when his colic plays up, usually in the afternoon or early evening in between feeds. You can't even stand still, you have to walk with him over the shoulder.

Unfortunatly, it's all the time unless he's sleeping or, when sometimes he doesn't mind being in the car seat if we're rocking it

Amelie used to be like this, then she went onto sitting on my lap. Is he colicy at all? He might like the pressure on his tummy?

Halen used to cry all the time if he wasn't being cuddled, he's getting better now, but still can have off days.

I found it uncomfortable to wear my sling at first (I wasn't wearing it properly and didn't notice until last weeks ask a mum thread about babywearing) so I carried him everywhere and learnt how to do most things one handed.

The past week I've just wore my sling with him when he's being a bit attached so I can still do things.
