Coldsores!


Rob has one, are they any danger to babies?

Ive had one the past week!

ive been told just not to kiss her, ive not kissed her on her lips but have so many times kissed her cheek or head without thinking.. i hope it doesnt harm her!

It can be dangerous if you kiss them on the lips and they're very young, but it's very, very unusual.... these links are upsetting so don't read if you don't want to

I remember the story in The Daily Mail as unfortunately my MIL reads that shit

I suffer with them from time to time and I just do as I would with OH or DD - dont kiss them. as I understand it if you get coldsores when you are pregnant they will naturally have the immunity to them when they are born. I think the mum of baby in the story in The Daily Scaremonger had never had them before and the baby was really new.

Ive never had them

Rob has handgel aswell so hes using that before he touches alex aswell

I went on holiday with my auntie in law recently she had one she just didnt kiss dex, he is fine. I have a wart on my finger which i have had for years and so far dex is fine.

You're right and I thought it was an isolated case but I googled "baby coldsore die" to find that story and many more came up

The lady in the 1st link is a close friend of mine, her daughter had no immunity to coldsores so this is why the virus eventually took her life

If you have never had a coldsore, dont kiss him on the lips, wash hands etc.

Sadly 5 babies died from the HSV virus a year, this is why is very rarely heard of.
