spout, handle, lid of metal...

i'm confused by cups! i've now got katie mainly on cups for her milk but now i dont know how cups progress!

i thought it was harder for them to learn to use handles, she's so good at holding both her bottles and cups with handles now, but i assumed with cups coming after bottles then the handles were harder.

but then the older cups dont have handles so i dunno what tto do! she's got some nuby ones with handles, one without, tommee tippee sippy cups, amadeus cow cups with handles, the bloody lot!!

and spouts aswell!! sshe's been having her water in hard spout free flow cups, but her milk in the soft ones, cos she likes to tip it upside down but is a soft spout cup much different to a bottle??

With Hannah we tried a lot of different sippy cups before we settled on the Nuby soft spout with handles as her "training cup" We started around 6 months I guess with it and let her use it until she was about 8 months old. By than she was good at getting the water out and drinking so we moved straight onto the Nuby straw cups (they say 18+ months but Hannah's not had any problems with them and they are supposed to be better for the teeth so I hear)

You could out the middle man and go straight to a normal cup, no lid, no spout, nothing! lol My Mum goes on about how she taught us to use normal cups at 6 months. We never had bottles nor cups with spouts.

I give Byron his milk in a bottle, water in a free flow hard spouted cup, but in the morning I give the milk that doesn't go on his porridge in a normal cup without a spout (though I hold it for him). He can drink fine that way too. It just makes less of a mess with a spout and I can leave him to play without there being drink absolutely everywhere!

zanes only just decided he wants to use a cup now after only wanting his bottle.
hes using a tigger cup with a soft spout that he has to bite n suck on to get anything out so it doesnt spill everywhere when he flips it over lol

i have no idea about cups either so this thread might help me too lol

she will drink out of a cup without a lid, but i know if i leave her to it it'll go bloody everywhere. and she wants to be independant atm, so wouldnt take too kindly to me having to hold it!!
