Switching to a foward facing carseat?

When did you switch to a foward facing carseat ... did you go by age or weight?

I ask because Brooke is no where near the recommended weight for a foward facing but she's getting there on age so im not sure what to do

Indie is still rear-facing because she is only dinky and fits in.. From what I can tell you should go on how big they are rather than how old they are. Keep them rear-facing as long as possible as it's safer.

I won't be moving Indie into a forward facing carseat until she is too big for her current one, not that we use it much anyway as we walk everywhere.

Agree with becky, until she reaches the limit with current carseat or her head goes over the top, legs over our fine, really best to keep her rear faced as long as possible

See Brooke is starting to get a little long for her rear facing, plus when she falls asleep she kind of slumps foward which clearly isnt very good for her so i dont know what to do for the best

Thomas outgrew his baby carseat at 5 months! So as he couldn't have the next stage car seat we were forced to buy another baby carseat but just one that was slightly bigger! madness!

PP there are some really good convertible car seats which are like an extension of group 0 seats and rear face for slightly longer but then switch to forward facing so act as a 2 in 1

like this...

or

this...
