Difficult to nap

Alex has always been really good with his naps but yesterday and today hes been difficult to get him to take one.
He will fall asleep in arms but when we put him down he wakes up!
He is definatley tired, doing his tired cry and yawning but he doesnt want to sleep!

I can't help really, the only way Liv will sleep in the day (unless we go out) is in my arms, can't get her in her cot, playpen, anything!

I would be interested if any other mummies have any suggestions! x

ive been having the same kind of probs with archie he just wont nap, the thing ive figured out with him is he finds everything so stimulating he cant settle so ive been putting him in his pram with the hood up and draping a blanket over it to make the room dark and turning the tv off, it seems to work and he goes to sleep in about 5-10 mins
once hes asleep i can put the tv back on i just have to bore him to sleep lol

We Had This Problem About A Month / Half Ago It Lasted About 2-3 Weeks,

Lilly Just Wanted a Blanket to Cuddle So We Put It Near Her Face And Then She Went Off Really Easy, Now She Doesnt Go To Sleep WithOut That Blanket,
Now When We Give Her The Blanket She Goes straight To Sleep.

Also Try Giving Them a Extra Oz Of Milk, As They could need Tha Extra Bit, & Also Jus Make IT a Quiet Place For LO To Go Sleep, Lilly Used To Need No Distraction and She Was Fine

Good Luck

Lyla started playing up with naps around the same age, and ive been through quite a few motions with it! I know from talking to my mummy pals that this is a personal choice, but the controlled crying technique works for us ... MOST of the time.

Lyla gets so stimulated that she cant settle in the day. So, i put her down in her cot with her muslin (her comforter) and a cuddly toy and then the minute I leave the room she starts to cry. I leave her to cry for a few minutes (supposed to be 5 but I cant last that long) then i return to the room, put her on her side, or give her a muslin and pat her lower back. This distracts her for a few moments and hopefully she drifts off. 90% of the time this works. 10% of the time I have to repeat this 3-4 times. But eventually she relaxes and sleeps.

I know its not for everyone, so please dont reply with "letting your child cry is cruel" - my baby cries because she is tired not because ive left her on her own.

i wouldnt reply with that answer as Alex does the same, he fusses alot when he goes to sleep and i leave him to it whilst checking on him every few mins.
