Think Daisy has Oral Thrush, anyone experienced this with LO?

I am not sure what to do now, I looked it up online and it says most cases disappear within a few days.

I assume thats what it is, it looks like she has been chewing the inside of her mouth and lips? But doesnt have enough teeth for that yet!

It doesnt seem to be bothering her, I think it could have been caused by the antibiotics for her ear infection.

Should I wait a day or 2 or just get her an emergency appointment?

my cousin had it, it was a nightmare to get rid of, the doctor said he could have caught it from washing his spoons etc in the dishwasher? never heard of this myself though. i thought thrush was a fungal thing that was just caught and passed by humans :s i dont know, but id go the doctors just to see what they say x

Liss has this so they thought and she was on medication for a while (some liquid first then gel), until it wasn't clearing so went to see a diff doc who just said it was milk on her tongue (but then covered the other docs by saying, it may have been at the start but it has cleared up, but thats def just milk) I would go get it checked as sooner the meds start the better. I don't think it needs an 'emergency' one, just call and get one asap.

Ethan has it - its a nightmare to get the GP to diagnose it tho. I went back 4 times, all the HV and MW were saying it was thrush, it was a thick white claggy coating on his tongue, looked disgusting. Eventually the MW rang the GP and demanded he write a prescription lol! I have used Nystatin and now Daktarin and it is going but very very slowly!

Dylan had it when he was a few weeks old. I was told it was just a milk build up my mw and then as soon as I asked the HV, she said it was thrush, quite a bad case. Doc prescribed Daktarin and it cleared in a few days. You could see blobs of white on the inside of his cheeks and lips, which is what made me think it was more than just the milk.

Salim had this when he was 4 weeks old. It is very very common and nothing to do with being dirty. The doctor said there is thrush particles everywhere in the air and all it takes is a bit to land on a dummy or babies hands etc and they suck them. I didnt realise salim had thrush, I thought it was just milk residue but when he stopped feeding properly and screaming I took him to the docs and this is what it was. He was prescribed some medicine to take for a week if i remember rightly then he was fine. It cleared up within 2 days but keep taking the medicine for the full week.

Lily has had it a couple of times hun, got some horrible tasting stuff from the docs that clear it up no probs. The only thing is Lily hated the taste so it was a bit hit and miss if I could get her to take it! x

It looks like all the gums, inside of lips is white/ripped/ looking. Make sure she has her own spoons/cups/bowls (incase she's with other LO's or family etc) as was told it can spread. I wouldn't say emergency but they do prescribe creams to remove it quicker for her
