Should I buy a double buggy?

Toddler will be 17 month old when baby no. 2 arrives shortly. Just wondered if it's worth buying a double buggy as my friend tells me it's not going to be worth the expense for the time that I'd use it for.
Just wondered if you'd any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Would you recommend a tandem or twin type?

yes. Even if your 17 months old is able to walk long distances, it will make your life easier to buy one. Also he/she will want to ride in the pushchair if he/she sees the little baby in it...

I bought a tandem and didn't like it, next time i would go for side by side.
It depends on whether you use bus or drive and what the shops are like where you live? x

I've used both and am currently using a Phil & Teds which I love. It's perfect for getting around the shops, much better than a side by side.
Also you don't have to worry about your little one harrassing the baby ;-)... we used a side by side before and one would always bite/poke the other one...

Definately buy a double. My son was 2 when Evie was born and we needed one, although he uses a buggyboard now. One thing I would advise to consider is to make sure it fits through your front door! I had to get rid of one because it didnt fit through front door, despite claiming to be one of the narrowest around! xx

I'm getting one, Kathryn will be 13 months when this bean is born, even if she was older I would. Even say a 2 year old can get tired after walking awhile and I certainly wouldn't want to carry a 2 year old around!
