Angelcare Monitor

Can someone help me please !!!

I have only properly started using this monitor today (haven't started using the mat yet just the monitor) anyway as soon as I get downstairs it goes completely silent and only picks up a signal if I go back up to the bit that is in the nursery ?!

What am I doing wrong ? Have looked at the instructions (if you can call it that) but I haven't a clue whats wrong with it.

I hate the damn thing, ive had since I was pregnant and everytime I tried to use it just shoved it back in the box as it wouldn't work and now im really pi**ed off with it !!!!

The reason it is doing it is because it isn't set to continuously (sp) give you sound, it only comes on when a noise is heard. It took me alittle while to get use to it but I found it is fantastic and has been a great reassurance. It should pick up the slightest of sounds in babies room mine will pick up a car door being shut outside.

You can change this setting but I've thrown my instructions away and can't remember of top of head. If you press the menu button once then use arrow keys it does different things so give those a try.

I got a bit confused about it going silent at first, but really like it now as the batteries last longer. Mine also picks up the slightest sound, but on the back there is a switch to change the sensitivity.

We lost our instructions and my OH managed to find some online (just incase that's useful to anyone.)
