Six month growth spurt

I was doing so well with BFing, taking fenugreek to increase my supply and for a few days I was actually keeping up with his needs, and then it happened...

The dreaded six-month growth spurt is definitely here!

Darwin is waking every two hours to eat. All day today he couldn't get enough - BFing, solids, formula, all were devoured in a frenzy of eating madness. When he wasn't stuffing his face with food, he was trying to eat his own hands and feet.

A friend of mine saw him today for the first time in a month and said he's definitely leaned out since last time so she's not surprised he's gone into another spurt - he'll get chubby again, and then shoot up like a weed.

How long does this growth spurt typically last? I seem to remember reading that it can be a long one, a week or two as opposed to the two or three day spurts tiny infants usually have. I hope it's over soon, it's only the first day and we're both exhausted!
