I used them up until a few days ago as Miles flings his hands and arms around his face all the time and gave himself quite a few scratches in the beginning.

I also didnt know not to cut the nails, and did so at about 2 weeks.

I would just take them off when you feel comfortable and just try and cut / file the nails as best as you can

I was told not to cut them because it's so easy to cut the skin, but it's ok to bite them off. I had to do Alice's nails the day after she was born and at least every week since then. She was born with such long nails and they grow so fast, I think if I waited until 6 weeks her nails would be longer than her fingers.

different strokes for different folks! i love it when BnBers get together and share their thoughts on simple things like this. very informative reading.

have decided to let Elijah tell me when it's time for him to stop wearing them. don't know what the sign will be (sucks mittens, throw them out all the time, etc) but i guess i'll know when it's time.
