slept in her cot last night!! (advice needed)

so we have had the basket in her cot for three weeks now and decided to put her in her cot last night..

she went down asleep like usual oh had swaddled her as she doesnt stay asleep unless she is and put a cotton sheet over her and tucked it in so she couldnt roll.. (just liuke we did in the basket but with smaller blankets...

after sleeping 10 till 8 for the last few night she woke last night at 3am..

i think she was scared? i didnt feed her just gave her her dummy and stayed for few mins till she was drifting back off but she kept waking every 10 mins and i kept just putting her dummy in..

oh then got up to her at 4am and settled her without the dummy and she slept till 9..

is it safe to let her sleep swaddled? we have put her feet to the foot of the cot.. she looks sooo small

is it normal for them to be scared?
is it just because its new?

When we tried Phoebe in her cot I think she was really scared, she got herself in such a state that it took me ages to calm her down. Like Luisa, Phoebe was 6lb 14oz at birth and now weighs 12lb 3oz so she looks tiny in her cot. I dont think she feels 'safe' iykwim? The moses basket was all cosy and snug whereas the cot is so big. Luckliy Phoebe still fits in her basket which we have in the cot so we have just stuck with this for the time being.

I put Theo in his cot for a nap once, he didn't nap, he just cried, they are all snug in there basket and the cot is massive, ours is a cotbed too, so he looked lost in there, I'll just continue to put his basket in his cot.

The Baby Catalogue do a seperator that actually makes the cot smaller, you put it in the middle of the cot so it seems its only half the size. Worth a look, I'll be getting one when Theo has to go in his cot, also one of them foam things so they can't roll onto their side might make her feel a little more snug.

Hey hun, like i said in my other thread, we settled Lo without a dummy last night and she slept much better.
i did similar to you, and put her moses basket in her cot for a couple of nights and used a sleep pod that shed used for 2 nights ( wount normally) so there was a familiar smell.

Ive also given her something to look at, she has a mobile, but alomst always sleep with her head to the side so we put her favorite cuddly toy at eye level so she could see it, and concentrate on it. I think that helped alot, as when she was in her basket obviously she could see anything but the sides and when you put them in the cot they can see a whole room, bound to be scary!

Regaurds to swaddling i know they dont recoemnd it due to over heating but id say use youre comnnon sense, we swaddled Lo, but shes now a bit big and too strong, so we've gone to sleep bags and id say they work just as briliantly, shes never slep r even napped wel with just a blanket
