Getting LO back to sleep after 5am feed?

In the first few weeks, Aisling would wake for a feed at 2am and 5am and usually go back to sleep. She's now managing one feed a night starting at 4.30am and usually finishing at 5.15am ish. Problem is, now she doesn't want to go back to sleep at all. She doesn't cry or anything but just makes her little grunting and general baby noises which I can't sleep through.

We've gone from putting her down at midnight to putting her down at 10.30pm and she still wakes at the same time for her feed. My MIL is convinced she slept enough by 5am and she doesn't need anymore but sometimes when DH takes her downstairs so I can get some sleep, she goes off again for a few hours. Does anyone have any ideas or tips to even just get her to 7am?

Thanks!

Is your room light at 5am by any chance ?

Our curtains are very light and we have a skylight with a white blind so at 5am there is no darkness whatsoever and Lucas has started to think its 'wake up time' unless its cloudy or overcast.

I am going to get some blackout blinds as im convinced he thinks its time to wake up as its so bright.

Oh no, I find that lucas will only go back to sleep if he comes in bed with us but since we switched from the moses basket to the crib that seems to have helped as he has more room and i can rock him back to sleep.

She won't suck the dummy, she's a bit of a drama queen and acts as though we're choking her with it! On the few occasions she has taken the dummy, she's been just as noisy though...

I had thought about waking her earlier but I'm scared I'll wake her at 3am for a feed and she'll be awake from then on! I may end up giving it a go though.

Try upping the amount she feeds at around 430am. This should make her sleep that little bit longer..

I had that problem and all it was, was that he was getting a feed just no longer being 'full' afterwards...

If Meadow wont go back to sleep I put her musical mobile on and it sends her to sleep within a few mins. I couldnt live without that thing. I cant sleep through her grunting either.

When Jasmine was that age I would often bring her in for a snuggle after that feed, she used to have one around 5 am too... Once she was on solids and stuff she just grew out of it.
