1st Birthdays

I see many of you planning 1st birthday parties. Is it more of a celebration in UK or is it just me that hasn't celebrated my kids 1st birthdays like the rest of you?

We will have a family party for Hannah. I have family coming from the States plus some of Stan's family. We'll do a bbq as we did for her 1 month thing because it's easy We always celebrated all the kids birthdays when I lived in Texas and I want to have a special day for Hannah. Not going to go overboard with a theme or anything though and she's only going to get a couple of things from us

We are going to go to a bbq at MIL's on the day before Alexa's birthday, she will have cake there, and get some pressies, and then on her birthday, OH works so we will likely go to my foster parents house to celebrate her first birthday, and again-there will likely be cake and presents...and then the day after, her auntie is coming over to visit and give gifts! Nothing big this year, but OH says there will be a big party for her second birthday!

We didn't have a party, but went out for a family meal, where he had cake & presents & was allowed to have his 1st 'toddler meal' of smiley faces & fish tiddlers as a treat (he had something at home beforehand). I put decorations up in the house, balloons & helium balloons. We then went away camping for a few days, but we were doing that anyway.

Oh, and didn't go nuts on presents either, as he has loads already. His main present was a smart trike, then he had some smaller things

We are having a shared birthday party with a friend who's little girl is 2 days old. We are doing a load of Mexican food, and hanging out in our backyard. We said no presents as well, and I just got him a big dump truck to push around. It is more for us really.

We're definitely having a 1st birthday party for Elyse.. we're having a party/gathering after her baptism too.. I guess really just any excuse to have a party LOL. We had to go to 1st birthdays for Andrew's cousin's kids, etc. so we'll be doing one for her! Friends have babies... so it should be a good time
