shocking, following on from ema's thread..

well today gramps came over for lunch as he was coming to the dentist with me and maddi (for me, as the waiting room is down stairs, but dentist office upstairs, and i can't get the pram up there, its like proper house stairs )

anyhoo... he was telling me when he was in the library this week there was a little girl, maddi's age crawling round (he loves , he's 89!) and trying to pull her self to stand on the big book stands that go round and round, so you can access the books easily, iykwim?

anyhow the librarian came over and said to the mother, sorry but please can your LO not do that (the mother was chatting to someone else) i'm so worried it could fall on her, as it's so big and heavy, and full of books... and the mother replied:

"oh don't worry, when it falls on her she no not to do it again"

i couldn't believe it! this could have seriously harmed her baby!

LOL I must admit I'm one for letting them hurt themselves, but yeah I'd prob been a bit more cautious around a load of heavy books.
