SMP increase - every little helps:)

Got my wage and had more than i expected. Just checked out if SMP has been increased and from April 09 it goes up from £117.18 to £123.06.

Not a massive increase but its a couple of packs of nappies or a tub of formula.

That's great news!

Typical, I only have a few months left of SMP! Boo hiss! I suppose I will have to look for a new job then (I have moved from Aberdeen down to Edinburgh recently).

That's great news. I opened my payslip for March and I had a negative number!!!!!!!
The Education authority had cocked up and taken my 9/10ths pay off me! I've been on SMP since Jan. They are so crap. Luckily my OH can sub me but what if I'd been relying on that money to pay bills/mortgage etc. Maternity pay is crap.

That's shocking. I dont think they realise how important it can be for some families, that every penny is accounted for in most cases. My education authority have paid me a different amount every month since November. I keep getting tax given back. I never realised i had been paying too much, but yet again, an example of how they need to sort themselves out.
