Mums with 2 young ones!

I've always wanted 2 kids and I have always wanted them close together.

Alfie is nearly 3 months now and so we are thinking of trying for number 2 from September onwards, so at the earliest baby number 2 would be born in June when Alfie would be around 18months old.

So am I totally bonkers for wanting to do this, anyone got any advice? Pros? Cons?

Hi there, me and hubby started trying for baby number 2 when Jack was 4 months old and i caught straight pg, unfortunatly i m/c. But found out i am pg again Jack will be 17 months old by the time this baby arrives, I think that it will be hard work but cant be as difficult as it has been with Jack.

Plus i would rather get the sleepless nights over and done with at once and they will grow up been close hopefully.....

Good on you sweetie, as long as it's what you want go for it xxxx

Good Luck xxx

My two are 14 yrs apart but I really wanted to start trying again in January for #3 but OH is having none of it! Well be trying from next Christmas as I'd like another winter baby if poss. I would have liked them 12 months apart but it looks like it will be 2 years.

Like most things there are pros and cons to both ways!

Good luck honey!

Landon and Casen are 2 1/2 wks shy of being exactly 2yrs apart....I love their spacing. They get along great, Landon fully understood what was happening and we involved him in helping prepare forCasen's arrival and he has always been an amazing big brother. Casen and Hayden was almost exactly 2 1/2 yrs apart...I dont' know if it was because Casen had been potty trained for like 4-5mo so it was more of a shock having a baby around again, or just adding a 3rd..it was much harder to transition...for me. I like 2yrs...but Landon being 4 1/2 when Hayden was born was also a great difference, he was able to help even more and was so excited about it all

There's 20months between my eldest two children. Lauren was 12months old when I had my coil removed and stopped breastfeeding in order to try again...we got pregnant straightawaywhich was a bit of a shock.

Morning sickness was difficult to cope with as Lauren needed me so much and was walking about and "into everything". The tiredness was also a bit issue in the first few months of pregnancy for the same reasons.

Two lots of nappies and both children being so dependant on you can be a bit difficult but hey ho surely it's difficult at any stage. I already had all the baby stuff so that was easy.

They are a school year apart and generally get on really well, of course they fight on occasion but are very close and adore each other

Toby came along when Abi was 3 and she started full time nursery school just before he was born which worked out brilliantly. However, when Toby was 5months old I discovered I was pregnant again. There is 15months between Toby and Erin and it's not been that bad at all to be honest. Toby adores his baby sister and kisses her all day long at the moment, never once hit her or been nasty to her and she's 8weeks old now so that's promising isn't it? When I breastfeed Erin I put his favourite dvd on and sit him next to us, so he cuddles up on the couch with us as I'm feeding Erin so he never feels "pushed out".

Do what's right for you babe. Lauren is now 6, Abi 4, Toby 16months and Erin 8wks. Some people look at me on the school run with Toby in a buggy, Erin in the baby carrier and a child on each side of the buggy holding the handles and say "you must be mad" or
"rather you than me" and I just laugh. I love them all so much and sometimes it is difficult but it's very rewarding and they are all such loving kids...best feeling in the world

This is my thinking too, I think it will be easier for me to have 2 babies at home rather than having to make a newborn fit around things like getting an older one to school and wot not.

I have a 18ish month gap between my two,

PRO's
I feel quite lucky as i had a easy pregnency so didn't get too tired and kieran kept me up on my feet towards the end.

Close in age so playmate

While Paige still has naps in the day i get time to spend with kieran, and when he starts nursery in september i'l get time with her

Your steraliser has not long been put away so you have no trouble finding it.

You can re use alot of your stuff, I knew i wanted two close together so went neautral with everything except clothes

I found it pretty easy with two until paige started moving,

Kieran adjusted really easily

CONs
You have to get a double pram...bloody nightmare!!

My sis has boy girl like me exact same age gap and they fight a lot!! There 10 and 12

At the age my two are at now, (especially while Kieran isn't in nursery til september) They are both very demanding!!

2 in nappies fill a wheelie bin pretty quick

Obviously this is only my experience, will see what else i can come up with x

I do think you are amazing having 4 young ones, you always seem so bright and positive in your posts too, good on ya!!!

I am lucky that I have an amazing MIL who loves being as involved as possible, at the moment she stays one night a week to give me a break, so I know she would/will help more often if I found it hard when preggers again.
