Are you guys allowed to smoke in resturants and bars over there?

Is the kitchen attached to your house? I was just wondering, dont mean to upset you or anything but if you are smoking inside your house you ARE smoking around her. OH's mother smoked in her room when we lived with her, our room (where I made Colton stay because I hoped it would keep him away from it) was completely on the other side of her house and it gave Colton bronchitis by the time he was 2 months old.
I will NEVER have someone even smoke in the same house as my child, one of the reasons he never goes to see his grandma or great grandparents on OH's side.. we moved out of his mothers house because even after he got sick at 2 months old she said she wouldn't quit smoking around him Her choice, and it was her house so we moved out.

I've never smoked, but have always lived with smokers. My mother smoked during her pregnancies (she has four children) and around all of us; and only one of us has asthma (my brother stopped breathing when he was 6.. thats how she found out). My grandma on my dad's side died of lung cancer.
The chemicals from cigs stay on your clothes and hands for up to an hour after your last puff. And whats on your clothes is the second hand smoke. Second hand smoke is ALOT worse than even when you smoke it because it's the stuff your body didn't want. If you hold your child without changing your clothes & washing your hands than your child is breathing that in, and whether you want to believe it or not that is hurting your child.

I'm so glad they are passing the no smoking laws in the US. Here we already cannot smoke in any public buildings whatsoever, and they are passing laws so that people cannot smoke in a vehicle with anyone under the age of 18. I know alot of people who are pissed off about it. But I feel it's best for the younger generation who cannot speak up for themselves yet.

OH's mother is the only one who smokes, i never let her smoke near Daisy and hate the smell that comes off her and hate if i ever have to go to her house cos it smells of stale smoke.

I also suspect Daisy does too, she always cries to get back to me when she picks her up after she has been smoking.

They say there is nothing worse than an ex-smoker I think I am one of those annoying ex-smokers with a super sensitive nose!

I went cold turkey for 2.5 years and started smoking again this week.

They're trying to do this here too, I think its excellent.

I've never smoked in my life and nobody in my house smokes. My grandmother smokes like 3 packs a day and I cringe when she picks Renah up. I wouldn't even go in her house when I was pregnant...she lives 2 houses away and Renah hasn't been inside her house yet

OH's mother smokes 2-2.5 packs a day! She is our neighbor. So are OH's grandparents. I can see both of their houses from my front door. Colton never goes to either of their houses. My mother lives 20 minutes away and sees Colton more than they do!
OH smokes, but I've never let him smoke in our house. EVER. And I wont even sit by him if I can smell it on him, it grosses me out.

I feel I should point out that I have one a day, outside and I disinfect my hands, shower and change my clothes afterwards.

I am totally anal about Niamh smelling smoke though.

umm... I hope you do realize since you bf, that niahm is getting the chemicals through you... whatever you ingest, she ingests, bfing does not cancel out bad chemicals.... and a smoker who is bfing increases the risk of SIDS
