9 months - bathing?!

Ok, so he has grown out of his bath seat and also the bath ring (his legs are too big). The question now is how the hell do I actually wash him.

He is quite capable of sitting and playing with his toys, but that doesn't last long cause he wants to play with the tap and the basin next to the bath etc etc and all of this involves standing up in the bath which i'm not happy with.

He also crawls around A LOT. Ends up swallowing water every now and again when he slips (I am holding him, but its hard to stop him dunking his head accidently.)

Just wondered if you guys have the same problem or if you have good LO's that sit still in the bath.

Caitlyn just goes in the bath on her own but she can stand up and is completely mobile now so we don't have a problem. She puts her face under on purpose she loves it!! She doesn't sit still atall she climbs up the sides stands up and sits back down and splashes herself in the face lol

Maybe just put a little bit of water in and lay him down in it? Hold him while you wash him? Does he have bath toys to distract him?

Erin lies back in the big bath with me supporting under her head, she loves kicking and splashing. She also sits on her own but still tends to slip backwards when she gets really excited, so I support her. xx

I'm so worried that he falls when he is standing and hits his head on the taps or something similar.

He loves his face going in the water, but hasn't yet learnt to keep his mouth shut so he ends up coughing and spluttering. He has lots of bath toys, even a funky pirate ship but he is more interested in the rest of the bathroom. As for holding him while I wash him, it just doesn't work as I need two hands to hold him.

Its funny though cause in his little pool that we put outside he happily sits for ages and plays.

We had to just put a non slip mat in and hover. With washing, I always do it at the end of a bath and just do it really quickly.

Colton has sat on his own in the bath since about 6.5 months. I just put about 3" of water in and let him at it. He has LOTS of bath toys though. I wash him first then let him play & play with him (he has little fish that squirt water and he thinks its funny to squirt him ). Ususlly if he stands up I just make sure to keep one hand around his arm in case he slipped, however we do have a "no-slip: mat If he keeps standing up over and over then i just go ahead and get him out..
