Spd Mummies ... advice please

I am looking for advice from mummies who had SPD whilst pregnant.

I am just wondering how long it took you to get back to 'normal'.

My MW said it can take 6 -8 weeks and I am still in pain with it Especially on a night when I get up to feed Thomas its awful, I can barely walk!

Any advice would be greatful xx

Can't help as I'm still pregnant but would be very interested to hear responses - I've been on crutches for about 8 weeks now and kinda hoping to lose them straight after the birth!!

I wasn't fully 'diagnosed" with spd because none of my doctors took me seriously, but I defintely was in way more severe pain than normal pregnant people so I think I had it. My pain went away in about a week, although it was significantly relieved after she came out!

Mine went the following day. I still say it's because I had an elective C Section and didn't attempt to push a baby out where the pain was. I had my section on the Thursday, and on the Friday, Kayleigh came to visit me in hospital and as I walked down the ward, her first words were "Mum - where are your crutches?" I hadn't even realised I was walking without them!

I seriously think that more research needs to be done into SPD, the causes and the recovery. I've heard loads of mums in the past say they are still in agony months after, but not if they have had a C Section.

I'll let you know how I am in just over 2 weeks.

Hope yours eases soon.

by the time I was walking (I had a spinal for my emergency csection) I was pretty much SPD free. Maybe it was because I had a csection though. I did do all the pushing if that makes a difference to it. I hope it gets better for you soon.

A few days and I was right as rain. I still get the occasional crunch from my pelvis though.

Thank you all, I really hope that it does disappear as at times it is really painful and with a baby and a 2 1/2 year old to see to on my own its not easy! When Chris goes back to work I'm going to be knackered!
