Traditional christening gown

Hey Ladies, I am after some advice... I had my heart set on a tradtional Christening gown, I really saw it as being white satin. I told my mum we'd use the ones thats been used for her children (including me) but when it got shown to me I was really dissapointed. It was lacey and off white, poss Ivory or even cream. Not sure if its been discolured in the loft or if it will come clean but really wasn't what I was expecting and I am not keen at all.
I have already said we'd use it so how do I now say I don't want to. I really want the day to be special and how I have imagined it, and a cream/ivory non satin gown wasn't part of that I am really stuck.
