Honestly, I do.
My feet, legs and entire body are very swollen from the C-section. My hubby informed me of some other stuff that went on in the operating room as well, which caused me to shake and go into shock.
The guy who was supposed to monitor my blood pressure was too busy chatting and didn't notice my blood pressure went way, way down until I was getting very nauseous. Also, the suction thing that they used to suction the blood was not working as this same guy didn't attach it properly until they were almost pulling the baby out. What a freakin idiot!
Anyhow, I am so swollen with water right now and my eyes have the worst dark circles and are so puffy. I cannot wait until it all goes away.
Go figure, I give birth to a 7 lb. 10 oz. boy and I lost only 10 lbs. Oh yeah, major water retention happening!
Anyhow, feel like crap too! ROFL!

To top it all off, my milk is coming in today and should soon feel very engorged.
I've made the decision to bottle feed my baby and was already 50/50 on that decision before going into the hospital.
So, I know that with each pregnancy, my engorgement was worse as I did breastfeed my other two. Concerned how it will be this time around but will soon feel the effects soon.

 Can't type much as I'm holding Hannah but for the engorgement ice packs help A LOT. Also I wore two bras, my regular bra and a sports bra over it which also helped bring the swelling down.

Thank you honey! When you get a moment please let me know how long it lasted ok. Trying to see what fun I am in for. ROFL!
It may not be any different than being engorged while breastfeeding. Engorgement then lasted almost a week.

it was the worst for two days....really swollen and sore. Stayed swollen--went down slowly day by day--for another week (maybe a bit more) and I kept wearing the two bras but they weren't sore :)

:wohoo: I'm free for now!
Yeah it was pretty bad at the beginning, and wearing 2 bras 24/7 for a week and a half wasn't very fun  But if you do the ice packs often it will go down a lot more quickly!
Sorry to hear about your birth experience! I can't believe they'd let someone so incompetent in the OR

Dan said my blood pressure went down to 40. I don't know if he was delirious from lack of sleep, but perhaps not. He said that they guy then did something and my blood pressure went back up to 90 very quick. You can't increase it that fast!
I think my gynecologist was very angry at what was going on. Dan said that she almost threw the baby at the nurse after taking him out. Also, Dan was not given the choice to cut the umbilical cord.
I also think the gynecologist was in a hurry to get me closed up as there is only a small time frame to which they can finish off the surgery without the spinal wearing off....and it was wearing off when they were tying my tubes and putting everything back. I won't ever forget that feeling.

I remember oh so well what the stitching up was like after my section. I only really started to feel it about 10 mins before they finished. The worst part was them ripping off the surgical screen and ragging round my stomach with antisceptic.. fuck it hurt!
However, the worst part of the recovery has got to be the engorgement. I did not breastfeed or pump and my boobs were like two massive rocks! I could not get any sleep for them, they were crushing me! Not something i am looking forward too.
Hope you feel better soon sweetie

I know what you mean about hte water retention! Mine was so bad. I had to sleep with a pillow under my feet because it piled down into my feet and ankles. They were so swollen they hurt and where the same size as my leg!! Even the doctor (my doc was out so saw his partner) said that it was really bad and when I went in for my check up a few weeks later she came and saw me too just cause she said she was slightly worried about it! None of my shoes fit, and I was wearing flip flops (with socks) in the WINTER!!
Hope it gets better! :hugs:

AWWWW hun hope you feel better soon, I remember after my c-section I felt like shite and looked like it to!!!! My whole body was swollen like a balloon and because I lost so much blood durning my surgery I felt weak and cold all the time and it didnt help that I couldnt get my feet into shoes and was wearing flip-flops at the end of Oct.
Give yourself a few weeks rest when you can, sleep when baby sleeps and before you know it you will be your old self again. xx
