ok here goes...............
as some of you no i went into the day assisment unit as i thought my waters were leaking turned ut they werent so i aked for a sweep and she couldnt do it because my cervix was too high up so she told me not too expect her soon.........well that evening i was sitting on the coach at 10pm and had a sharp pain it felt like baby had scratched my bone or something, as i moved a little i felt a gush of water and i said ut-oh and oh said what with a worried look on his face and i said ive just had a gush of water so i got off the coach and went to the loo and as soon as i got there water was coming out of me so i sat there for the next 15mins with it coming out while oh ran around getting the kids coats on and making sure we had everything, rang my mum and told her we were on our way down (luckly oh had only had 2 beers)
so we dropped kids off and went straight to the hospital as i have group b strep and have to go in asap to have antibiotics. got there and they monitored the baby and left me for a couple of hours to see if the mild contractions i was having would increase but ofcourse thay didnt they stopped so they had to put me on thye hormone drip which i wasnt happy about as i know it makes the contractions alot worse. it was 2.30am by the time they put me on the drip and i was only 1cm dilated. contractions began to increase and get more painful so i asked for gas and air. mw checked me again at 6.30am and i was only 2cm and by this point i was in a lot of pain!!!! an hour or 2 past and i was in agony crawling the bed as they had to keep increasing the hormone level and i was asked if i wanted any other pain relief, mw told me that i had atleast another 8 hours of this so both me and ricky said i couldnt do it for that long as the pain was unbearable!!!!!! so i have the epi!!! they checked me again at 10.30am and i was 3cm! they tried to top my epi up but the stupid man hadnt put it in deep enough so i had to have it done again!
time past baby still doing fine it came to 2.30pm and they checked me again and i was fully dilated so they left me another hour or so and i began to push at 3.45pm this was very difficult as i didnt have the erge to push.was pushing for an hour and they had to bring in the docs as she just wasnt coming out by this time the epi had worn off and i was in pain again. they decided they wanted to take me to theatre to either help me deliver her or give me a c section. so then the mw start running about taking off my nail vanish and jewellery in the meantime every contrations i was getting im still pushing. and i s'pose it was the thought of going to theatre or the thought of failing in some way that i found the energy to push her out at 5.08pm. and it turned out the reason my contractions had stopped and i wasnt dilating was because she was back to back and when i pushed her out she came out looking at my inner thigh!!...........
well thats how she came into the world a total of 19hour labour. but worth every minute.
