Just a general query but what can be seen at a scan at 6+4 1 day either side.

Ive never had a scan this early, but because of Taylor they just want to reassure me, n im dreadin the fact there will be zilch there .

Im a big girl size 26, n i think they may have to give me a trans vaginal scan just to be able to see anything.

Any1 got any info.

I had a scan at 7 weeks and you can see a blob! (see attached)
I had to have a trans-vaginal scan for this one as they couldnt pick up a lot from normal scan.

I could also see the heartbeat (got a little clip on dvd of that)

hope that helps x

oh oh oh !!! me me me!!!

Im 6 +3 and i had a scan today. We had an external scan which showed a sac and then an internal scan which showed a sca, embryo and a heartbeat!!!

It was absolutly lovely!!! We had a scare last week so it was a check up scan today.

We were told that it is very normal not to see a heatbeat at this early stage, even with an internal scan so we were chuffed to bits!

Dont worry - the way we looked at it was that if nothing was there, its much better to know now and move on than to find out weeks down the line. Good luck with everything! x x

I had a scan yesterday at 6+3, just an external one. I couldn't really see anything except a blob(!) and to be honest couldn't really hear much either but the doc picked up the heartbeat on the monitor which is all I wanted (had a panic with all my symptoms disappearing!). I didn't have the option for an internal scan but I've heard you can hear and see alot more with those.

Good luck!

I have been to see the GP today and have an early scan booked for next tuesday (6+2).... so nervous! the gp was not overly helpful - she told me that they probably wont give me a scan early as it wont make any difference anyway to the outcome.... it was only when I made a point that I cannot torment myself for the next 7 / 8 weeks wondering if I am imagining it or that my baby is ok - at least if there is a heartbeat I can relax a bit more..... am I being silly here? she made me feel like I was asking her to pay for it personally!!

I couldn't even see anything at 7+4 even the woman couldn't date for definite as it was too early then so you'll probably get another one at 12, this one will be able to tell u if the heartbeat is good and if its in the right position etc, so go thinking u'll see nothing and anything else will be a bonus dont be dissapointed x

Thanks Katie - to be honest the main thing I am hoping to achieve is confirmation that I am indeed pg and if they can detect the heartbeat then I will be ecstatic. I didnt have that when I had my mmc as I didnt find out until my 12 week scan which was heartbreaking enough but more so as I had never seen if my baby had a heartbeat to start with..... I am starting to believe I am pg but that will at least confirm I am not ready for the loony bin......lol xx

you'll be fine, good luck hun! Yes every scan puts our mind at rest that much more otherwise the loony bin would become too full up lol xx
