I am so tired I could cry! Every afternoon I just feel so exhausted I could just curl up into a ball and go to sleep. My eyes really sting and I can feel them closing, I have to go to bed really early as I just cant stay awake. Anyone got any tips? Its so hard feeling like this when i'm at work everyday.

I'm the same hun. It's normal. I'm afraid I don't have any tips except to nap whenever you can and go to bed as early as you need to. Don't feel guilty about it!

One tip I got from my baby book was to get all the sleep you can now... because you won't be able to once your LO arrives!!!

....

Hi Hun...I know what you are going through. It is hard to make it through the day when you are tired and all you can think about is sleep. My work will let me leave to have a nap if it gets really bad.I'm really lucky that way. Depending on what you do for work, maybe you could look into being able to leave or to cut your work day a little shorter. Where do you work? :hugs:

I am the same. I am struggling to keep my eyes open as i type this.
Fortunately my DH is a wonder and sends me straight to bed when i get home whilst he makes dinner and does the chores. Don't know how i'd manage if i had to do the chores once i got in from work. I don't think there are any miracle answers, just getting lots of rest.

i never tried this but apparently if u eat a apple its supposed to wake u up and give n more energy. i worked in a office so a boring job anyway lol but the tiredness was horrible. other than that all i can suggest is a nice hot bath everynight a back rub and a early night

Hi

I was the same in first tri, second tri is much better and you start to feel a bit more 'normal' Just recently though the tiredness has hit me again and its mega i could just sleep all day! Personally, i haven't had any trouble with iron levels *touch wood* but u defo wanna make sure you're getting enough in your diet. Also a tip i learnt from my mw is to drink a cold drink with your meals because hot drinks absorb the iron and calcium i think it was she said. Hope u perk up soon and congrats on your pregnancy :happydance:

I work as a PA for an accountancy firm, there is no way they would let me leave early or shorten my hours they are quite strict. What makes it worse is I have my own office so apart from the odd few people poppng in to pass me paperwork i'm on my own and all I think about is sleep!

Maybe you could pull a George from Seinfeld and sneak under the desk for a little snooze!!

the tiredness has really hit me this week too! I have ME (chronic fatigue syndrome) which of course make it worse, but i have iron supplements which really help me. I sleep during the day at the mo which is great.

Im a primary school teacher and so on my hols for another 3 weeks - thank god! So really taking advantage of it!

Try eating little and often - bananas are great for small birsts of energy if you can manage them!

But the tiredness is generally very normal. It wont last forever hun! hope you feel better soon x x

Thanks girls. I have taken today off work as my nausea has suddenly become really bad I feel terrible. I texted my boss at work and her response was 'try and come in later' - they are not sympathetic at all.

I was really tired at first aswell. I felt like I couldnt do anything and I would have to get 12/13 hours sleep a night! But dont worry as soon as I got to 12 weeks I felt great! So hopefully ull feel fine in a couple of weeks!

oooaaaah Happy, I SO know what you're going thru... I'm in the throes of it at the mo - like RIGHT NOW, THIS SECOND - myself. I could cry. I just want to sleeeeeeeeep! The worst for me is after I eat! I can't win. I don't eat, I feel sick (just MAKING myself eat is a chore) and then once I've managed sth, I feel so tired I can barely keep my eyes open! ... I have the same strict, non sympathetic work environment and I'm thinking of asking my doctor for 'sick leave' - as in working only 1/2 days or STH. I can't take much more of this, and my productivity is at an all time LOOOOOOOOOOW anyway!!! ... *sigh* We haven't too much longer 'til 12 weeks hon. Here's to survival...

Im also with you honey, i feel absolutely rubbish and am starting to get seriously despondent - its like having a tummy bug for 3 weeks and it wont let up! As soon as i have my dinner, im in bed. Last night i was in bed at 7:30 but i watched the X files for a couple of hours before nodding off! Its also getting to me because i feel like i have no life at the moment but OH keeps reminding me that up tp a month ago we were so busy and were doing loads of things (not just eating and sleeping!) which is true but it just feels like its been ages since ive enjoyed myself y'know! Roll on 12 weeks oh please roll on!

I've just woken up after a nap this afternoon - which I never do. I have never felt so lethargic in my whole life, I sooo wish the next few weeks would hurry up.

Not sure what to do about work, tomorrow will be interesting.

I'm with you, too. My work is almost hostile about it. I'm on my feet for 8 hrs straight with no breaks. Morning sickness is considered a chronic illness and is a legitamite reason to call in sick, even to take sick leave if it's bad enough. Unfortunately, I'm still within my three month probation so they could fire me for any reason - even an imaginary one. I can't call in sick with mine.
