I had a chinese takeaway last night and within 20minutes of eating it I had a really bad case of diarrhea. Had another dose 20mins after that one and then it stopped. I had extremely bad tummy pains at the time and now I'm worried that whatever caused it could have harmed the baby?
Should I be worried?:?:

I'm sure you'll be fine.. It may not be the food being dodgy..but the fact of the oils they cook with and it's a little too much for your pregnant tummy.
Just make sure you drink plenty of water, as you lose water when you suffer with diarrhea.
If you start feeling worse then call your GP.
Good luck.

Might be TMI,
But I have IBS and my bowels are quite sensitive to certain foods. Quite often a curry will send me to the loo within the hour. It may just be your body is a bit more sensitive to the spices etc now you're pregnant. I wouldn't worry!

Thanks Beckyboo, Baby-love, I have a tendancy to overreact to just about everything at the moment. I've been fine this morning so there is probably nothing to worry about.

Likely to be a sensitivity rather than food poisoning. Bacillus cereus, the bacterium that can cause food poisoning in rice that has been cooled and then reheated doesn't cause symptoms within such a short time period and you'd be more likely to have vomiting too. If you have more diarrhoea or vomiting that doesn't settle then see your GP but otherwise I wouldn't worry

It would only be a slightly sensitive tummy because no bacteria or germ can affect your body in such a short space of time. Salmonella takes about 12-24 hrs to affect you so don't oanic hun

The exact same thing happened to me when I had a chinese the other day! I was bad for two days. I had crippling stomach cramps felt like somone was squeezing my stomach. I dont usually have a sensitive tummy but it definately has got more sensitive since being pregnant.
