I know this has probably been asked a million times before and I'm sorry if it has but I've been having pretty bad ms, exhaustion and sore boobs over the last couple of weeks and this weekend it all seems to have nearly disappeared. I'm sure it's all to do with fluctuating hormones and stuff and that it's all ok but of course now I'm worried that something's wrong.

Have you ladies found the same thing and everything's been fine?

Thanks!

Hi Hun
Am sure its just waves of symptoms. Big huggs

If you are still wrried in a few days why dont you book a private scan to put your mind at rest - I know its not cheap but maybe worth every penny hun x

It all tends to come and go hun, I wouldn't worry to much.. but if you are, try ringing the midwife? :)

Still no symptoms and I did a hpt this morning and it looked a bit lighter than one I did last week, what do you think?

I don't have a midwife yet so I might do another hpt tomorrow and call the doctor if it's still lighter. Really worried, from everything I've read, a lighter hpt is definitely a really bad sign.

I would call the doctor if only to put your mind at rest, but i'm sure that if the hpt gets a bit lighter, there can be many physiological reasons for it, not just that the worst is happening. try to stay positive, good luck:hug:

i hope everything is ok. When i was pregnant with lilly i did a hpt around 6 months and the line was pretty faint, which was due to the hormone levels being lower. Try not to worry my symptoms are up and down on a daily basis. Sometimes i feel fine other days i feel like crap. Good luck at the docs

Thanks ladies. I know HPTs do tend to get lighter after a few months but not this early as far as I know. At work at the moment and I know I should make an appointment with the doc for this evening but I'm just really scared it's going to be the outcome I think it'll be.

Try not to panic too much hun. Your hormones do dip and peak and hun and you are only stressing yourself out. If you have no signs of a m/c then stop worrying too much. Every mother worries when pregnant but you are doing the baby no good or yourself by worrying so much.

The way I look at it is that a lack of pregnancy signs is not a bad thing, however positive signs of m/c are a different story! Do you have bleeding or pain in any way, if so then I'd worry but relax if you don't and chill :hugs:

No obvious signs, I guess I'm worried about a missed miscarriage where the baby stops developing but you don't bleed etc.

I had a missed m/c in May but I still had bleeding and stuff before hand. I am sure everything is ok but if you are that worried I'd get checked out hun xxx

Hi there,

Just wanted to advise a trip to the doctors as soon as you can, just so he/she can book you a NHS scan as early as possible to reassure you (the early pregnancy assessment unit get pretty busy!)

A fainter HPT shouldn't be happening in theory. However it can vary from brand to brand! Did you use the same brand you got your 1st BFP with?

I'm sure everything will be just fine, but as someone who has had a missed m/c I recognise the need to be reassured and for a scan, which will be one way of knowing. The other would be to have some blood tests to check if your HCG levels are rising.

Thanks ladies. Freya, I had a whole bag full of cheapie internet hpts so they've all been the same brand unfortunately. Did you have loss of symptoms too without bleeding?

I'm in Ireland, so no NHS, thinking I'll have to just pay private for a scan if it comes to it.

Never take a pregnancy test in hoping it shows a darker line. In most cases it leads to the mother getting worried. How much lighter exactly is this test compared to your other one? This is my fourth pregnancy and yes symptoms do come and go. I wouldn't worry so much because it isn't healthy for you. You should though call in for a scan when you can to put your mind at ease. I'm sure everything is ok, but I am no expert and like anything I could be wrong and so could you're test.

The line was still very definitely there. Last week I had been all excited because the result line was just about as dark as the control line for the first time. Today, it wasn't as dark as the control line at all.....

Just called the docs, they only do blood tests in the mornings when I'm at work so they're going to see if they can arrange for me to do it in the evening and they'd then store it overnight.... Otherwise I'll try to get some time off work.

ok but if your leves are lower then normal dont get worried until you get a scan. My levels were super high and my baby was almost non existant and with no heart beat. But be hold at my later scans I was right on target with dates. She is now 20 months old. They also told me I might be having an impending m/c. It all depends on the test and scans. Some ultrasound machines very by a few days to up to a week I think. And a test can get lighter eventhough your pregnancy is fine. So just keep positive sweety and good luck!

I have an appointment tonight with the nurse to get my bloods taken so hopefully she might have some advice too. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get results? I think because it's a doctor's surgery they have to send them off to the lab to be tested....

Hi Lu,

Blood test should be pretty quick! Maybe 3 days (ok, when you want answers, 3 days wont seem quick!!!). Didn't realise no NHS where you are - sorry I assumed it!!

Did I have a loss of symptoms without a bleed? I didn't have much in the way of symptoms to start, they certainly weren't strong if I did have them, so now I look back I don't think my pregnancy was right from day 1!! It sounds more likely you are having a temporary 'break' from symptoms! Or, perhaps you're one of the lucky ones who sail through 1st tri with little to complain about! I've met a couple of girls on the forums just like that!

Try not to worry chick! Easy to say I know, but it's much more likely all is well!!!

Well the doctor was great, asked what I was worried about and then gave me a scan! I couldn't really see anything and certainly couldn't hear anything but he said he could detect a heartbeat which is the best you can hope for at this stage. He said it wasn't any guarantee on what would happen from now on and we'd need to keep an eye on things but he's not doing bloods or setting any follow ups so I assume he thinks all is ok. He said they are always concerned if pg symptoms disappear so wanted to check things over with the scan.

He also told me to step away from the hpts!!!!! I'm not sure I'll manage that to be honest and I'll prob keep worrying but hopefully not as much.

thanks for all the support girls:hug:

Oh, I'm glad everything's OK hon. I've just seen this thread and I've been panicing for you for the last 2-3 minutes!!

You've gotta stop taking the tests though - you've had the scan & the dr heard the heartbeat. I think you can safely assume you're pregnant! :)

Yayyyyy - that's great news! I agree - stay away from the HPTs! Give them to your DH to hide from you. This time is stressful enough - we don't need you adding to it! :hugs:

Great news!!!! What a fab Doc you have!!! Do they have a scanner in the surgery? Wow, the best I can hope for is a doppler to listen to the heart beat. Sooooooooooo pleased you've got some reassurance. NO MORE POAS for you! Everything is fine, just 6 weeks to go until the next milestone of 12 weeks and you can relax a little more!!!!

Do you have to go private for your 1st 'official' scan in Ireland, and pay? When do you meet your mw? Seems to vary from place to place but perhaps once you meet her, you could link in with her if you have any concerns?

Yeah, the doc has a scanner in his surgery, it's great!!:happydance:

My first official scan with the hospital won't be until 18-22 weeks but my doc had said that he'll do one for me whenever I want after 10 weeks and just to pop down to the surgery! Think I'll try and wait until 12 weeks now..... I have my first hosp appt in Oct and I'll tell them then I want to do the midwifes clinic so shoudl be with the midwives from then on - all a bit complicated over here!

Oooo, it does sound different over there. But not in a bad way because I'd LOVE a scanner at my docs.

I can totally relate to your anxieties, it's so hard when you want a baby soooooo much and you're looking into every twinge, and sensation! I remember phoning my doc at 5 weeks convinced I was having an ectopic!!!! Neurotic much???

Anyway, brilliant news. Read your TTC journal yesterday and understand how much your baby means to you after a year of ups and downs! Wishing you and DH all the sticky vibes in the world! xxxxx
