How heavy is the blood flow after giving birth?

I am just wondering if any of you can help me on this?
I know everyone is different but just wondering if it is alot heavier then a normal
cycle?

I know i have a while to go but it just popped into my head so i thought i would ask!!

mine was a mighty lot heavier than a normal period, needig to be changed every half an hour in first two days in order to feel really 'fresh'. it's just wearing off now, day 11 after birth. you need really thick maternity pads...everyone's different though...

it was really really heavy for me for the first 10 days was constantly changing pads.

very heavy, it was horrible! every time i moved you could feel the leaking (sorry if TMI)
Will try night time santiary towels this time i think, found the maternity pad very bulky and uncomfortable.

VERY, VERY,VERY HEAVY for about 3-4 days it was awful everytime I stood up I woyuld flood, but after 3 days it was basically nothing until my first period and you dont even want to go there!!!!!!. Good luck hun xx

Mine was extremely heavy for the first 2-3 days, than like an average period for me (on a heavy day--of course I always had heavier periods). Tapered off at around 10 days or so I believe

Mine was only really heavy for the first couple of days then settled down.

I was the same, it was really heavy for the first few days, then eased off the noral period typ loss for a week or so then went to (TMI) a browny discharge for a couple of weeks before stopping completely, then i got my normal period about 2 weeks later, they was a little eratic at first but calmed down after about 4-5 months.

Mine was REALLY heavy for 10 days. The first 5 days was lots of clots and lumps. Someone told me afterwards that they wore depends instead of sanitary napkins and they were MUCH more comfortable. I wish I would have known they would have worked. I thought about it, but didn't think they would be absorbent enough.
