I have been feeling a bit uncomfortable 'up there' recently, along with tummy cramps and weird egg-white-like discharge... so I decided to have a bit of a feel around to just see if... Well I don't know why really, it just seemed like the thing to do

Anyway, I'm sure it feels different up there. It feels like there is a big lumpy bit, that I could grab between 2 fingers, or swirl one finger around. ...I could be feeling my cervix, because I've never felt that before, and I can feel a hole in this 'lump' that I can fit the tip of my finger in... I was just wondering if this is a normal thing I've never noticed before or if I should be worried?

Does this sound just like my cervix to you? Should I go to the docs about the other symptoms (or this) anyway?? Also around this bit, there are what feels like flappy bits of skin that I can lift up?? This seems so odd because, while trying not to sound like too much of a perv, I do know my girly bits quite well and I've never felt any thing like it - they always seemed so smooth and clean-cut before! Could it be small tears / scars from having Anna maybe?

Thoughts?? Anyone else had anything similar?

Thanks in advnace for your answers xx

That's your cervix hon :)

If you can fit your finger in there, it sounds like you're ovulating :) The os (the opening you feel) opens and closes as we move through our cycle. It opens again during AF. Otherwise it's closed tight.

Your cervix also moves up and down in your vagina depending on where you are in your fertile cycle. During ovulation it's very high... sometimes I have a hard time reaching mine. During AF it tends to be low, and its otherwise somewhere in between the other days of the month.

Obviously the secretions you're finding are coming from the cervix too. Eggwhite comes during the days leading up to and the day of ovulation. Once ovulation occurs, the cervix stops the eggwhite mucous and dries up, or produces the 'non-fertile' mucous.

This how I track my fertility to avoid pregnancy. I've been successful for 5 years. We had our oops  on a day that was 'fertile' where we took a chance anyway.

Hope that helps a bit :)

BTW the other stuff sounds normal too :)

I got sent to be checked out after my last smear because I seemed to have a flap on my cervix. Turns out that it was a tear and nothing to worry about.

Period started the day after I wrote this - Does that sound right for if I was ovulating the day I wrote this??

Confuuuuused! Especially with the pregnancy test I have been doing seem to be having faint lines - What's going on?!? :hissy:

You're just going to have to wait and see I think. Test again in a few days.

It could have easily been the days prior to your period too. The difference being how easy it was to find your cervix. The thing to remember is SHOW

Soft
High
Open
Wet

These are all descriptions of a cervix when you are FERTILE. For me it is this way for ovulation, then I dry up for a week or so, then start to make creamy/wet cervical fluid again. My cervix also stays quite high except a day or two prior to my period it drops low.

I'd test again in a few days :)
