how did you know it was twins??

I've got a feeling it might be twins... did anyone know for sure before their early scans???? I'm 6 weeks gone...couldnt see anything at 5 weeks on scan...

I've had a bit of a scary week with internal bleeding and pain after rupture corpus leutem and due a scan tomorrow.. my hcg rises are ok...we have a strong family history of twins(maternal side and i'm a fraternal twin) and i have a feeling it might be.. just an intuition feeling nothing concrete.. feeling really sick and with the internal pain finding it diffcult to pee at night making me think my uterus maybe bigger than usual??? Had pain boths sides when ovulation occured as well...could more than one egg have been released???

What do you all think??? Its fun to speculate!!!!

I had no idea it was twins and we were completely shocked!! We both didnt even give it a second thought to be honest . we were more concerned to having a healthy pregnancy. I had mc earlier in the year so when i had some spotting last week we started to panic and had a reassurance scan only to be floored with the "you are having twins" !! we saw the two sacs and two strong heartbeats!! its still early days but fingers crossed all is ok!!

BUT the weirdest thing happened the night before!! we had never mentioned twins before at all. The night before I dreamt that we had twins!! i told my husband in the morning and texted my friend that knew we were pregnant. My husband said you are crazy lets just concentrate on having a healthy pregnancy!! i just said yeah not saying its going to come true!! Anyway you can imagine how freaked out we were ! for hearing you are having twins and second because of the dream I had had!!! So I guess somewhere in my subconscious I knew!! Spooky hey!!
I am exhausted though!!

Well the scanner had some news for us today too.. firstly definately pregnant and the pregnancy is in the uterus..(this was a huge headache for us as we've had a ruptured corpus leutem and internal bleeding which everyone was really worried was an ectopic pregnancy).. secondly.. there looked like another sac there.. more indistinct than the first which is also larger... i nearly died!! I'm a doctor in o and g and i saw it first and said to the scanner theres something else there...

She couldnt say definatively what she thought.. i asked a colleague and they are sure theres two.. but i think the second is smaller and maybe not as healthy as the first so i'm not holding out hope but we will see at the next scan in ten days!! Maybe two maybe i'll just end up with one??? I was kind of excited at there being two though so if there are two we'll have to see....

thanks guys.. they didnt let us have copies of the scans...Yvonne your scan is a beauty!!! the second sac on mine was really indistinct and faint and smaller compared with the first one and there is a real question over whether it is a second one.. i'm thinking of it as just one for the moment just in case it isnt there or it goes before the next scan. I suspect from seeing your my second one might disappear....Next scan is in ten days...

Out of interest... was your nausea really bad from 4 weeks on?? I'm having terrible time with it right now...i just want to curl up and stay in bed and not do anything... i'm not throwing up but just feel awful all day!! Really struggling at work....

yvonne.. let us know how your scan goes on tuesday!! I will fill you in when i have my next scan if there is one or two...fingers crossed for yours! How far along are you now???

I know how you feel re the twins surviving!! I am hoping tomorrow all is ok and the fact that there was two heartbeats that things will be ok

My ms started week 5 with just nausea and then today i have started gagging so feeling really sick!!! not nice but somehow a bit reassuring as makes me think everything is ok if you know what i mean!

when is your next scan now? cross your fingers for me tomorrow afteroon wil pop on ad let you know how it goes
