Periods after birth

I was just wondering when you all started your periods again after you had your LO? I'm not sure whether there is some average time, like 3 months after or whether it depends on the person. Only I'm going away in a couple of weeks and Grace will have had her 8 week injections by then and I really want to take her swimming because she loves the bath and tries to swim in it and I want to know whether I should maybe ask the doctor for the tablet that you take before you go and it delays your period. Although I don't really want to do that as I don't want to go and start messing with my cycle

i think i had my first period when callum was about 10 weeks old!!
