Okay, so everyone has told me that breast feeding will help you lose weight. I still have yet to see this. I have been eating healthy (cause I have to cause I have gall stones). Anyways, I just assumed that breast feeding would work some magic on the weight that I had gained. Not so much. :dohh: I need to start working out (I know), just finding the time and energy is hard to do. I am back at work now so my day consists of feeding my LO at 5:00 am, then getting ready for work, then pumping before I leave. I drop off LO at daycare and go to work at 8:00 am. I get off work at 5:00 pm, then go pick up LO and get home cy 6:00 pm the latest. I feed my LO once I get home so by the time he is done it is close to 7:00 pm and I still need to eat dinner cause I am starving by this time. So crazy, I never thought finding time would be this difficult.
Anyone losing weight while breastfeeding?? If so, please tell me your secrets. Also, anyone working a full-time job and working out? Where do you find the time (or energy)?? By the end of the day I am so exhausted.

I haven't lost a single pound since two weeks after she was born. I'm not eating that great, but I thought it would come off easier while bf. Not at all!

I don't have time to work out now that I'm back to work (part-time), I'm still learning how to juggle work/cleaning/mommy. I've lost 44+ pounds so far and I would credit that to my son being a hungry lil monkey! I do try to eat pretty reasonably for the most part. You can always pump in between feeds to burn more calories.

Wow, sounds like you are doing well on the weight loss. I try to pump in between feedings, but either something comes up or my LO is fussy and I need to tend to him (I can't stand letting him cry). I am working full time and I am just overwhelmed when I get home (laundry, cleaning, dinner, dishes, baby, dog etc...). I spend most of my night getting ready for the next day so I can grab and go in the morning. Also, if I pump in between feedings in the evening hours, I don't pump a whole lot. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.
Wouldn't it be nice to be super moms??

I was just going to say, I didn't expect to loose a lot right after birth as baby is only drinking 2 oz every couple hours at first. Now though, LO is drinking 5 ounces every 3 hours and I expect that as I pay good attention to what I eat, I'll see a better weight loss. I'm also trying to build up a bit of a milk bank so I'm trying to get an extra feed off every other night or so. So that might help a bit.
It is recommended that a woman not diet much until 2 months pp to make sure milk establishes. Get 65g of protien a day, and eat 20-25% of calories as fat. A breastfeeding woman should be getting between 1500 and 1800 calories. She burns between 200 adn 500 calories just by making milk.
I'm like you Holldoll, not any movement so far... :dohh: I'm going to be paying much more attention to what I eat over the next month. Hopefully I'll drop a pound or two :)
Good luck mamas!

I'm so jealous. I had to go and buy new clothes. I didn't want to wear maternity clothes after having the baby (that's depressing) and my pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit.
Good for you getting back into the pre-pregnancy clothes, lucky girl. I wish I had the same luck. I don't plan on being this size for long.

Thank you. You are always very informative, I love reading your posts. I'm not dieting, I have to really watch what I eat right now since I have gall stones. The suregeon put me on a low fat diet until I get my gall bladder taken out (next friday) otherwise I will have an attack and I am trying to avoid that at all costs, they are very, very painful. I actually can't wait to eat greasy food again (in moderation, of course).
Good luck to you too.

Remember ladies - nine months on - nine months off. I'm only just getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight, I can nearly fit in my old trousers, and Kaya's almost 9 months. Cparks1, try and pump when you're at work, it will help keep your supply up.

Me too, I just don't get it. I have been eating healthy too and sometimes probably not eating enough like I should be since I'm breast feeding.
I pump at work three times a day and go and feed my LO on my lunch break, then of course, I feed my LO at home too.

I'm back to my prepregnancy weight (possibly not through breastfeeding but because I have no appetite) but even now my clothes don't feel right and my tummy looks awful. So all I have to say is that really, even if the weight does come off you might still not be happy!
