Hi
Wondering if anyone knows if neurodevelopment checkup is routine after discharge from hospital. One of my twins has recieved an appointement for a neurodevelpment checkup 3 months after discharge (5months old) but the other hasn't.
Can't think of any reason why this twin should get this and other not (should be other way round if anything). Can't get hold of hospital to query this. Was told off at normal paed checkup for not bringing other twin when only received one letter.
Does anyone know if this checkup is specific, or probably routine (ie should take both twins)

Thanks for any help you can give

Karen

I know with Noah, before he was discharged a woman came to see if he was developing at his corrected age and actual age. She then recommened that he be evaulated after he came home. They did a eval on him and now he has OT ever two weeks, he barely qualified but she said its almost a good thing he did so she can work with him and if anything comes up she can work with him. Perhaps it was a mistake that only one was referred? I would call and speak to your discharge planner

I would take both twins and I'm sure it is a normal developmental check? How many weeks were the twins and how old are they now hun?

They were 30+2, and they'll be four months on sunday. I suppose I'll just trek them both down to the hospital

Ellen has had development checks every year since discharge though this ear will be the first on her actual birthday and not corrected and the last one she will get.
As far as i know, they check all prems so take them both.
Which hospital were they born at? i only as as Ellen was a london baby (UCH)
