I have lurked around this forum for a while now and after :witch: coming early today I am now starting to accept that something is not quite right. I am 31 and DH is 35. I came off bcp in March 07 after 14 years and we officially started ttc in Aug 07. Went to docs in Jan 08 who did 21 day bloods which came back fine. I always get ov pain and a positive opk around day 15 of a regular 28/29 day cycle. I have painful periods and cramp from ovulation until af. I had an ultrasound scan in Jan 07 as was very uncomfortable during last smear and everything came back as normal.

We had a chemical pregnancy in June 08. I have made an appt to go back to the docs next week. Think next step will be for DH to get tested. He is apprehensive about it. He is a smoker and drinks an average amount of alcohol and he is taking a zinc supplement.

Just wanted to share our story as its such an emotional rollercoaster.

Lots of luck to you bonfloss. I know it just seems so unfair doesn't it. Now you've been ttcing for a year I'd say it was time to go and stamp your feet at the Drs, especially as you've been charting too.
Surely it's better to get DH tested and know one way or the other? I know it's daunting for them, poor little boys ;)

Hi bonfloss, it's always to get checked out. At least we're not blindly shooting in the dark. I hope everything works for you. :dust:

Hiya Bonfloss :hugs: I'm just making the transition to "long term ttc" too (although we've been trying 16 months - I am slow to admit things to myself!). What are the next steps for you, given that your tests have come back fine so far?

I'm similar to Magic and have just started to accept there could be a problem (after 2 years). After recently posting on here I am finding everyone is really friendly and willing all the BFPs that we hope to all get.

Good luck with the next step of your journey and hope it all goes well for you xx

Hi bonfloss!

Its never easy to reach that point and admit that something might be wrong

Sounds like the next step is to get your DH tested. Men are such wuss's it annoys me! All they have to do is jizz in a cup and they complain about that, and we have to open our legs and poked and prodded every which way!!!

Best of luck for the rest of your journey xx

Hi Bonfloss,

Bit slow on the uptake here but just wanted to wish you luck. I am the same age as you and have been trying for a similar amount of time. I would definitely get checked out if I were you.

Good Luck!

I know how scary it feels and how hard it is to accept something may be wrong -especially for the blokes- but it's always best to know. you're right, him getting a sperm count is indeed the next step and we all hope it goes well!

Went back to docs today. I have to go back for 21 day bloods which were done in January and were ok. OH to go for sperm test but need to phone to book appt which is usually around a 3 week wait so will be a while before we have results.
