Hi Ladies
Seeing as I have finally made the move over to First Tri I thought I'd start up my pregnancy journal (how weird is that?!!!) seeing as I loved my TTC one so much!
I'm 28 and DH is 30. We've been married 3 1/2 years and have been TTC number 1 since October 2007. I got a faint IC positive 4 days ago at 10dpo, confirmed by a FR and digi so I guess that's that!
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, not having been here before, don't know who to contact, doctor or hospital etc so lots to learn.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few months and hopefully still hear from the girls in TTC - I'll still be stalking your journals!!

Thanks girls!!!
Munch - I couldn't pronounce my name when I was a kid and called myself Lula instead - my sister caught on and she and a few of our friends still call me Lu so that's where that came from!!
I booked my first doctors appointment!!!:happydance: Scary and exciting all at the same time! I have no idea how things work in Ireland, you can go public, private, semi-private, not sure what my insurance covers etc. I know they don't do free scans routinely until 18-22 weeks!!! That seems like forever away so I guess I'll ask about getting one done earlier.
So very excited, seems like it's all more real now!!:happydance::happydance:

So when's the appointment? Yeah, 18-22 weeks is an eternity away. In the UK it's routinely at 12, 20 and then only really if required I think (can't remember).

Came by to check on you and your little bean:)

Lu28
Jul 30th, 2008, 21:36 PM
Thanks girls. The doctor was really nice, just did a urine sample to double check and asked which test I had used - he looked a little shocked as I rattled off my list!! DH was in the background muttering "What test didn't she use..."! I had to explain 3 times that I had short cycles and AF really was late and he asked what possessed me to test when I did - cue more bemused looks when I told him about temping etc!!
Anyway, he puts my EDD at about 11 April which is what I thought. I had thought the first scan would be 18-22 weeks but you can have joint care betwee your GP and the hospital and he has his own scanner so he'll just do it there at about 10 weeks if I want, all included, happy days!:happydance: They can't do the heartbeat or dating there which is a shame but the most important thing will be just to see everything's ok.
He's not one for wrapping pg ladies in cotton wool which is great, told me not to worry about all the stuff with nuts and caffeine and stuff and just to generally be sensible. Also said the only sport I should avoid is contact sports and even sit ups are ok as I'm fit anyway which is brilliant because I really wanted to keep going to the gym and stuff:happydance:
I went down to the gym straight after and spoke to the lady who deals with all the pg ladies and she changed my programme slightly to take out the treadmill and increase the x-trainer but leaving in everything else including all my situps and stuff so that's great. Just a case of not allowing myself get too hot and stay hydrated. She does pilates and says that'd be good and there's also pg yoga!! Now I can't even touch my toes but it'd be interesting!!
So all I have to do now is pick a hospital and decide if I want to go public, private or semi-private. With public you're on a ward and won't see the same person the whole time, semi-private you'll be on a smaller ward if there's capacity and appt waiting times are shorter and with private you see the same doctor all the way through and you should get a private room to yourself. I'm tempted with public because even though I have health insurance, there'll still be a good bit you have to pay yourself (my friend paid £3000!!!!). It's not as though i was brought up with money or anything but DH would like me to have my own room (which I'd love to but don't think we can justify the cost). Guess I'd better start researching!
Anyway, really sorry for the essay but it's the most information I've had since finding out!!
God, you've probably all fallen asleep by now!!

I love it when we go the docs and baffle them with all the stuff we know! Can't believe he's got his own scanner! Great that you can have it done at week 10 though!
It's all exciting stuff! :happydance: xx

Wow Lu! That's great! So you've got plenty of things to start working on and researching now.
I'm so excited for you!
Yeah, I'm glad the doc isn't wrapping you in cotton wool - because some tend to get completely obsessive about what you can and can't eat and drink etc. etc. Moderation and common sense is the way forward!

Lu28
Jul 31st, 2008, 10:33 AM
Symptom wise, I still don't really have any!! Apart from a consistently stronger BFP that is! If that means I'll get an easy ride of it then great but if I'm not even 4 weeks gone yet, I'm expecting it all to kick in soon!!
I forgot to say, the doctor also said if at all possible I should try not to gain any weight during the first 4 1/2 months!!! Is that even going to be possible? I'm 5'10" and just over 10 stone so it's not as though I'm overweight to start with! Ah well I'll give it a shot.
One of my best friends from England is coming over to stay with us this weekend and I was going to tell them then because they're trying too and we've been keeping track of each other. I got an email today to say that they'd finally made up their minds to book their wedding for some time in May and they were going to book today. Now I'm due on 11 April and I'm meant to be maid of honour!! They've had an aboslute nightmare of a time trying to arrange the date and suit everyone else in their lives and now I've had to email her to tell her my news and just beg her to do whatever is right for them and leave me out of it but I didn't think it was fair not to tell her seeing as she's planning it with me taking an important part. I sent the email 30 minutes ago and haven't heard from her since, I feel awful....

Here, these things happen Lu and at least you are giving plenty of notice. It's not like you have even waited to the 12 week mark before telling your friend.
She might be disappointed, but I certainly don't think she would hold it against you.

I really wouldn't worry about weight. Have a look at the bump pics in the first tri - water retention and bloating might cause you to put weight on even if you don't overeat or become less active (or both!!!).
Think it's far more important that you keep eating as healthily as possible and just not worry about it x
I've put about 6lbs on so far I think and I was a bit overweight in the first place (but not hugely) - I've been weighed at the hospital and no one there / at my drs has mentioned it being a problem.
I'm sure your friend will understand - she'll probably be really happy for you! xxxx

I've just spoken to her there so I feel much better, phew!! She is really happy for me, I think it's just that combined thing of she's ttc too and also it's her big day. But she did keep saying that my news was much more important than hers so I put her straight on that - as far as I'm concerned getting married and having a baby are just as important. Anyway, she's coming over to spend the weekend with us tomorrow so we'll have a good natter then!
Tanya, I totally forgot to say what we did differently this time! One thing was we bded less simply because my cbfm only gave me one high and then we were straight on to peaks! We bded 2 days before and 1 day before ov and then the day of and that was it. The other things I did differently was take a break from BnB so that I was slightly more relaxed about the cycle because I was getting more than a little obsessed! The last thing was we used preseed for the first time so you never know! xxx

Thanks for the tips hun!! I think I will TRY and take a break from B&B as I am addicted.... might do temps again tho as it is good to have a record of temps if I go to doc in 6 months but no more OPKs and no more testing.... Maybe I should get a CBFM.....mmmm

I LOVE my cbfm! It just took the mystery out of it all, no worrying about whether the line is darker or not or the time of day you do it or the difference it makes if you get a positive in the morning or afternoon - it just spits out the answer at you which was all I wanted!

Just found out today that one of the girls at my work is 5 months pregnant and she's only just announced it! At least it'll be a bit of a precedent for me in a couple of months time - I'm nervous about it just because I haven't been here long so I was thinking of saying it was unplanned but welcome surprise - not that anyone who knows what ttc is like would believe me!
Off to see Batman tonight, can't wait!:happydance:
On a completely pregnancy unrelated note, I'm steaming mad because I met with a candidate today (I'm a legal recruitment consultant and worked as a solicitor until 2 months ago) and he asked why a qualified solicitor was doing such a lowly job and was I not good enough to cut it in law??!!!!! Cheeky b@stard!!!! Felt like saying to him that I'd trained with one of the top firms in England and I simply don't enjoy it, that doesn't make him any better than me or anyone else for that matter. Instead I smiled sweetly, took all his details and promptly put his CV in my shredding file - evil I know but I don't care!!

I think the nausea is starting to him me a bit now, not that I've actually been ill. We had our dinner last night and went straight to the cinema. By the time we got there I was starting to feel pretty ill and didn't bother getting any ice-cream - now everyone knows how much I LOVE ice-cream, especially at the cinema, I get it every single time and nearly enjoy the ice-cream more than the film! I got halfway over to the queue and realised there was no way I was going to be able to eat it, bizarre for me! Also drew some very strange looks from my sister and BIL......
Took another internet cheapie hpt this morning, line came up straight away and definitely darker so finally starting to relax. I guess I should stop testing and temping at some point?!

Hi girls!
I managed to stay away from the runny eggs but it was a big big effort!!! My dad lives and works in America now so he's introduced us to american pancakes with maple syrup and a runny fried egg and top and it's GORGEOUS! So DH, my friend and her DF were digging into their lovely brekkie today and I just had the pancakes, nowhere near as nice!!
Symptom-wise, I'm still getting a bit of nausea every now and the but nothing too bad. I'm also absolutely exhausted but I'm not sure if that's because I'm pg or just because we've had a couple of late nights. Had a good 8 hours sleep last night though and I'm about ready to drop again!!
The other 3 were spending the weekend trying to come up with names for my little bean and unfortunately they've settled on "picnic" - don't ask me why! So regardless of what the final name is, I get the feeling they're going to call it Picnic!!!
Also found out that DH doesn't want to know the sex of the baby! I was really surprised by that, I always assumed we'd know.
Curiosa, always happy to have a pg buddy!!! Congrats to you too!!!
elm
Aug 3rd, 2008, 22:15 PM

Think I just started calling him Chicken - haven't got a clue why!! Might have been influenced by your old ticker!!! OH didn't really get a say in it
Chicken's a 'he' because I was leaning towards wanting a girl (have such a lovely girls name lined up!) so didn't want to get settled on 'she'! It does make sense honest!

Had a lovely day, it's a bank holiday over here so we lazed around in the morning (I can't sleep late despite how tired I am), decided we'd go to the gym but it was closed for renovations (shame!), went for a walk on the beach where I grew up because it always makes me feel closer to my mum, came home and took the dogs for a walk on our beach, had a nap and about to have dinner! So lovely day really. Nothing desperately exciting to report, no more pg symptoms except that I think my tiredness might now be pg fatigue because it's not even really helped by a nap. Doing well so far though so I'm not complaining!

I still haven't booked in with the hospital yet, stupid private health insurance still hasn't been set up through work despite me being here nearly 3 months now! It's not as though I can tell them why I want it sorted out urgently now but I don't think I can book things without specifying if I'll be public or private, grrr! Ah well, I guess at just over 4 weeks it's early days anyway.
Off to the gym tonight, actually feel in the mood to be a bit healthier all of a sudden!

It looks like we're settling on spud now!!!! So my spud is the size of a poppyseed! God I'm so impatient, I want to be further along, just can't keep me happy!
Well I did my first gym workout since finding out I was pg!!!:happydance: It's strange trying to balance actually doing a workout with not pushing myself too hard and getting too hot. I might have been a bit easy on myself tonight but I figured better to be safe than sorry really and I'm sure I'll build up stamina over time. I'm just used to pushing myself hard and it's quite difficult to not tell myself I'm being a wimp! I do feel really good now though although I think I'll probably suffer for it tomorrow - hopefully it'll help with the tiredness though.
I was asking about pregnancy yoga which they do at the gym but it's extra on top of my monthly fee which is a bit of an extravegance at the moment. They do pilates as well and the lady who redid my programme for me runs the class so maybe I'll give that a go. She said she had one pg lady last year who did the class right until the birth and was back a couple of weeks later. I'm just not flexible at all, I don't bend (or straighten!!) the way you're meant to in these classes and the last time I did pilates I was asked to stay behind because she didn't think I was trying hard enough - she just didn't seem to believe me that my body just doesn't do what other people do naturally - I can't touch my toes, if I'm sitting with my legs straight in front of me, I can't bend over, couldn't even when I was a kid! This lady did promise to be nice to me though......

Arrr, L'il Spud!!!!! Building up your stamina sounds good. I'm sure pilates will be ok - just hide at the back til you've got a bit of confidence and feign morning sickness if you want to escape!

Glad to hear you are getting on rightly in the gym... as long as you take it easy. Actually that was one of my first pg symptoms - I was suddenly out of breath one day, which was very surprising as I could easily go for an hour or two in the gym before that.

Oh my god, I'm so tired!! I'm sitting here at my desk just ready to fall asleep!!!
I went over to the hospital today to get a bit of information about options for private v semi-private v public care and was met with such an unfriendly lady! She kept looking at me and talking to me like I was totally stupid even though I explained to her that I didn't know the procedure and was just looking for a bit of information - silly cow! Ended up getting more help from a little old lady sitting behind the main reception desk than I did from the main person if you can believe it. That lady was lovely though, gave me a name and number to call and said to say she sent me, they'd look after me then, so sweet!
Looks like my health insurance finally came through so I'll need to give them a call tonight to see what if anything I'm covered for. The lady at the hospital said you usually had to be insured for at least 6 months before maternity care kicked in, here's hoping she's wrong!

I've just looked at your journal curiosa, what a coincidence!!! Just remembered, the other thing the nasty lady said was that they're currently booking first appointments for October, no earlier!!! I'll be about 12 weeks by then seems so far away - I always thought I'd be seen before then for some reason. I guess my GP has said he'll give me a scan earlier than that if I want which is something even if I won't be able to hear a heartbeat so think I'll be doing that - i'll definitely need to convince myself everything is ok by then!

I agree, Lu! 12 weeks does seem like so far away. I have also heard that the first scan in the UK is usually around 10-12 weeks. I didn't hear Chickens heartbeat til we got our own doppler, when I had my scan could see it beating away so didn't mind not hearing it (and it was so lovely seeing Chicken that I wasn't thinking about hearing it) and my doppler seems to be better than the one at my drs so don't worry about that bit - you can get your own :happydance:! x

One of the girls at work has just come back from hols and found out that another of the girls is 5 months pg. Another girl who I don't know had a baby about a month ago so she was looking around asking who'd be next because these things always come in 3s!!!! I'd be quite good friends with her at work and am so tempted to tell her but then I'm tempted to tell everyone so better keep quiet for a bit longer!
I was just talking to the insurance people and it looks as though I'll be covered from the end of August on because that's when the group scheme is up for renewal which is great. It doesn't sound as though the out-patient stuff is great though so I might go public for the outpatient care (scans etc) and then I can book in as semi-private when the time comes for the birth. The only difference is I won't see the same doctor all the way through but apparently I can opt for the midwife's clinic instead which would probably be nice. With semi-private for the birth, there's only be 3 other people in the room instead of a full-on ward for public. If you go fully private, you get your own room and they'll give you 3.5k towards the costs but I think you'd still have to pick up more than 1k which we don't have. Ah well, it's not as though I was born with money so I'll be fine! I'll have to chat to DH tonight and get it all booked up!:happydance:

Thanks girls! Yeah, I think I'll probably go for a hospital birth. I had talked to DH about a scheme they have here were you give birth at hospital and as long as everything's ok they send you and baby home 6 hours later. He doesn't like the idea though, he'd prefer me to be in hospital where there's someone there straight away if something happens to me or spud after the birth.
Work was LONG!!! The problem is that it's really quiet at the moment at work so there's nothing to distract me from the tiredness!!!
The lady I was speaking to at the hospital was saying I wouldn't get an appointment until I'm 14-16 weeks - seems like forever away! I guess at least I can get the early scan with my GP...

Curiosa, I'm only thinking about things like birth because you have to make decisions on the basis of public, private and semi-private so there's decisions you need to make very early on depending on your funding options. I'm too scared to think any further than that. I'm not buying any pregnancy magazines because they talk about the birth and I'm too scared to read about it!!!
Jaylene, no date for the early scan yet, it's just with my local doctor and he said to just book in whenever I felt like it after 10 weeks, just like making a normal doctor's appointment!:happydance: He's really great. I was thinking of waiting til 12 weeks so we have more of a chance of seeing something and because that's about when we wanted to tell the family.
Feeling quite good today actually. It's funny, yesterday I felt awful and then last night and this morning I'm nowhere near as tired, just feeling like the usual Friday don't want to go to work feeling! I'm guessing the tiredness comes and goes a bit?

Hi Lu,
glad you're having energy days! I bought one pregnancy magazine at about 13 weeks (the one that told me about the icecream - soft icecream has unpasturized egg white in apparently which is bad, you could check if the milkshakes have egg in though, there's probably only a really low risk involved anyway) and OHs mum bought me one on Wednesday which I thought was really sweet! Don't think much of them though, one had Katie from the Apprentice saying how she didn't think it was too bad eating brie or something (not sure who'd be interested in that) - didn't find them of much use.
What are you doing this weekend (apart from sleeping whenever you want to :happydance:!)? xxx

Well it ended up being quite easy in the end! The party was in the village I grew up in right beside the sea and there's 4 roads in, all of which were badly flooded because of all the rain so basically the village and therefore his birthday party was stranded!!!! Felt so sorry for him, we spent an hour and a half trying to get in but it was impossible so no-one made the party:cry: Felt awful but nothing we could do, especially in the mini. My sister was in a skoda though and they couldn't get through either......
It's definitely hard not telling people! I think what I'm finding most difficult at the moment is excusing me not difficult and at the moment not eating because I feel ill. My sister and BIL came back to ours after we all failed to get to the party and we got food which I couldn't eat. BIL got DH on his own and asked "what's up with Lu, did you get her up the duff of something?!!!" He was obviously messing so DH just said yeah something like that! So at least when we do announce we can say we never lied to them!!!
We've decided that if it's a girl, we'll call her Aisling (pronounced Ashling) - its an Irish name that means dream. We can't really agree on boys names because for every name we can remember a horrible boy from school!!!!! We're discussing Ciaran at the moment but DH wants it to be spelled Kieran - you can't have an Irish name in Ireland and not spell it the Irish way!!! So what's your names Elm or are you keeping them to yourself for a little while?

No he's not usually that sweet!!! They came into our sitting room yesterday when they picked me up and this morning I just noticed a book that was under the coffee table in plain sight - The Yummy Mummy's Survival Guide(my friend just got it for me!)!!! Here's hoping they thought it was just a novel or something!
Not feeling great this morning to be honest, felt quite weak and faint on the train on the way in to work and just exhausted now. I look awful too, huge black bags under my eyes, how attractive! All I want to do is sleep at the moment but hey ho, I wouldn't sway this for anything and I just need to get through these few months I guess. I just need some energy!!
Try and carry around cereal bars or something in your bag. You'll maybe need to get a blood test done to check your iron if you suffer for too long, hope you feel better soon xx

Hey Lu!!
Sorry to hear you have not been feeling all that well. It will al be worth it in the end, even though right now when you look in the mirror you are seeing something you do not like. I am sure you look gorgeous!
Nice to hear that your BIL might be taking the positive approach to having possibly found out that you are Prego.
Hope your day is getting better!

I got my first hospital appointment date!!!:happydance: It's 15 October, I'll be nearly 15 weeks by then! Really glad I can have my scan with my GP before then. It's hard to believe that they're quite happy to leave you to your own devices until then but there you are.
Need to take the dogs for a walk and am determined to go to the gym after but all I want to do is curl up on the sofa and go for a snooze!! I do think it's important to keep up the exercise though. Going with DH when he gets in so if he's really not in the mood I'll give it a skip, otherwise I'll drag myself down and see what I manage to do!

Maybe once you get to they gym you'll find you've got lots of energy but it not don't feel guilty for putting your feet up. Work must be really taking it out of you and you're making a baby so it's not like you're being lazy if you don't make it to the gym.

Hi ladies! Apart from being ridiculously bored at work (things are still very slow!) I'm not too bad today! Tiredness isn't anywhere near as bad as yesterday which is great. I'm finding that I don't ever feel really bady nauseaus except sometimes after eating but instead I feel slightly nauseaus constantly which is quite annoying! But not too bad a day today anyway.
So I'll try and get to the gym tonight if I can and see how I do. I have noticed I"m more out of breath these days - not sure if that's just not being as fit as I was or due to the pg so I'll just take it easy I think.
I've also noticed that I've lost 4-5lbs in weight since getting my :bfp:! I always thought it'd be the other way around but there you are. The girls in First Tri have all said it's normal so I'm not worrying about it but I'll just keep an eye on it because I think if I lose another 1/2 stone I'll slide into the underweight category which wouldn't be great.....
Anyway, hope all you ladies are doing well today!

How was the gym? Have you started the pilates class? It says in my 'Labour Pain' (10p form the bookshop bargain bin) book that if you do pilates it can make labour easier because you can move around better or something, it definitely said it's a good thing to do! But that's ages away so you've got months and months to get going with it.

Still thinking I'll make it to the gym tonight but we'll see!
My nausea just isn't going and it's driving me nuts now. It seems to get mie mainly from lunchtime on and the ginger biscuits, eating regularly etc doesn't work. So I've just bought my first pair of highly attractive blue stretchy travel sickness bands! Not really sure how I'll hide them at work, even when I wear long sleeves, my wrists stick out the end but it's worth a shot. They have little pressure buttons which you have to put in a very specific place so here's hoping I have it right or I'll be wearing these awful things for nothing!!

I forgot to put on the travel sickness bands before I left for work!!!:hissy: The nausea was pretty bad this morning for some reason, it'd be interesting to know how it would have been if I'd had the stupid bands! There's also reports over here that some packaged sandwiches and sandwich fillers have been infected by salmonella, oh joy! I had that sandwich filler yesterday or the day before but I imagine if I had salmonella, I'd konw all about it and not just be feeling a bit dodgy sitting at my desk!!
Not much else to report really, I have a day off tomorrow and I'm sooooo looking forward to it! Also booked a week off in September which I think should be week 12 for me so we're hoping to go away if we can find anything cheap enough. I might try and book my scan for the week before:happydance:

:yipee: 6 weeks today!!!! :yipee:
To be honest, we're not really picky on where we'd go, just a cheap deal somewhere that's still warm! We'd love to go to Alvor in Portugal, we've been there before and loved it and seeing as we only have a week, we wouldn't spend the first couple of days getting to know the area. In some ways it seems really frivolous to spend money now on things like holidays but we've had such a stressful few months that we could do with getting away. We'll see what the cost looks like anyway.
And you're 17 weeks today Elm, can't believe how quickly the time has gone, seems like yesterday that you announced your BFP!

Hiya fellow Irish girl!
I've been catching up on BnB this morning - it's Friday and I can't get into the work mode. :coffee:
Anyway, I wanted to drop by and wish you a big congrats on your BFP and let you know how much I've enjoyed reading your journal this morning. I think it's because of the fact you're Irish and I think I'll learn lots form your journal about the way the whole pregnancy thing works over here - puplic, semi-privte etc.
You sound like you're doing great Mrs and your Hubby sounds like a really sweet guy and it's clear you're being well looked after.
I'm an Eddie Rocket's fan too (you could tell if you saw my gut!) and I hope I have some happy news for you! I was laughing when I was reading about their milkshakes and just want to say that they're not made from soft icecream (not like the one that comes out of machine into a cone). They use scoops of icecream from big tubs - like oversized HB tubs and they blend it on the mixer with milk to soften it.
Hope this comes as a suprise to you and you can go treat yourself at the weekend.
Please God I'll get to join you in 1st trimester soon one day and I'll be getting all the goss and tips on an Irish pregnancy off you.

We've just had a relaxing one this morning (after I woke at 6.15am because I was so hungry!), had breakfast in a local cafe and then went for a walk around a stately home nearby. We're going to make a start on cleaning the house soon (it's a state!) and then head to the gym. At some point over the weekend we're going for an Indian because I've finally had one recommended to me - they don't have as many over here as in England!(I've just moved back to Ireland after 7 years in England Little Miss)

If you are really worried, give the doctors a ring. It is quite normal for ms etc to disappear for a couple of days and come back. I remember freaking out and then being relieved when the ms came back.
Let us know how it goes.
Thinking of you.

Hi girls, thanks for all your lovely messages. I think I'm more worried now than I was because of the hpt on top of everything else. I know I shouldn't place too much weight on it but at this stage it can't be a good thing for it to be lighter. I called the doc and they usually only do blood tests in the mornings for some reason so they're going to check whether they can do it in the evening for me when I'm home from work and then send it off the next day.
I'm really trying not to worry needlessly and so don't want to be one of those people who completely panics at every little twinge but it's just the loss of symptoms along with the hpt has really gotton to me.....

Aww, so sorry yr going through this hun. :hugs: It's good to get the blood test I think -- if that is going to help to put yr mind at ease. I'm sure you & Spud are going to be fine though -- there has been no spotting or cramping right?
I am thinking of you hun.

Hi Sweet Pea!
Please do not worry. I was in the same boat as you and probably took 5 HPT's and saw the doctor and still did not think that I was PG until I went to my first scan at 12 weeks.
You will have good days and bad days, but if there is no sign of major cramping or bleeding then you are definitely still prego, it is just those prego hormones getting the best of you and making you think that you are not when you really are! Maybe you are one of the lucky ones who will have a rather mild first tri. :hugs: Please keep positive and keep us posted! With all this excersize maybe it is just doing you justice and making you feel better and that is the key to a good first tri and the rest of us have yet to figure it out!! :winkwink:
Keep us posted though and stay positive! I was very worried that the lighter the line on the HPT the less PG I was but everytime I called the 1-800 number on the box the aldies always responded the same way......it doesn;t matter how light it is, if there is a line you are prego!
:hugs: :hugs:
We are here for you!
Lots of love,
Jaylene

Glad you called the docs Lu. The last thing you want is to be stressed. I'm hoping that your symptoms return sometime soon though to put your mind at ease.
I'm not sure about the HPT, but it is always best to get it checked out if you are worried. I went to A&E twice - once at 7 weeks and once at 16 or 17 weeks because of spotting.
Try not to worry too much, as it is perfectly normal for symptoms to come and go.
Thinking of you.

I have an appointment tonight to have my bloods taken but it'll just be with the nurse so I'm not sure how much advice she'll be able to give me or how long it'll take for the results to come back as they have to send the blood away to be tested.....

Well the doctor was great, asked what I was worried about and then gave me a scan! I couldn't really see anything and certainly couldn't hear anything but he said he could detect a heartbeat which is the best you can hope for at this stage. He said it wasn't any guarantee on what would happen from now on and we'd need to keep an eye on things but he's not doing bloods or setting any follow ups so I assume he thinks all is ok. He said they are always concerned if pg symptoms disappear so wanted to check things over with the scan.
He also told me to step away from the hpts!!!!! I'm not sure I'll manage that to be honest and I'll prob keep worrying but hopefully not as much.
thanks for all the support girls:hug:

Lu,
That's fantastic news!!! :happydance: Lovely little spud is doing well!!
You know you definitely don't have a blighted ovum :happydance: (I was worried I had one of them).
Keep away from those hpts - if you've got any left give them away!!! Hope you're feeling worse soon (i.e. sick and tired!) just to give you a bit more reassurance!!! xxx

what a relief! :happydance:
but I agree with the doc, step away from the HPTs!! there's no point doing them now, cause even if something were to happen (but it won't!), they will still show positive. Just go to your doctor whenever you're concerned. He seems like a nice guy! :)

Thanks girls! Yeah, the doctor is amazing, really understanding and didn't treat me like an idiot. I couldnt believe my luck when he suggested the scan!!!
On the plus side, my (.)(.) do feel tender again today!!!:happydance: I also felt  eating a yoghurt just now but I think that's just because it tasted horrible!!
Told DH about it all last night and was playing down the scan, feel a bit guilty that he missed the first one but it's not as though I really saw or heard anything anyway.....
Didn't make it to the gym last night, I was just so relieved by the time I got home that you wouldn't have got me anywhere near the gym. I might go tonight but I sort of want to watch the secret millionaire at 9 and then Grey's Anatomy is on at 10 so I'm not sure where I'll get the time! I should just make the effort though I guess.
Anyway,a much happier and less stressed Lu today!!:happydance:

Glad your doctor was such a sweetie and your LO is doing well! :hugs: I would say step away from the HPT tests as well but I know that if I had any tests in the house I would be doing one every day just to make sure I am actually pregnant!
P.S. I wouldn't go to the gym tonight, secret millionaire and greys anatomy are much better for you!!! :happydance:

Heya Lu!
So happy for you!! Bring on the  - and if you do get it bad, ask for motion sickness pills. They are my new miracle pill!!! I took my first last night to avoid the night nausea (well... a bit late, since I had it already when I took the pill :shy:) and WOAH. What a difference!!! Its still working this morning, I just shoved some milk chocy down my throat at 7.30am!??!!? STARVING! What a change! Would only take 'em later in the day tho, they make ya drowsy!!!
Anyway, hope the (.)(.) are still tender today :D and that you're otherwise well!

Hi ladies!
Jaylene, you're more than welcome over to my place fora lazy night in! No gym in the end, watched all my programmes and got a chinese takeaway so we were very bad. I was still starving when I got home despite having eaten all afternoon and I didn't want to wait while we cooked something!
I have a little confession to make - I have done HPTs the last 2 mornings! Ok, most of you aren't going to be surprised by that! Well yesterday's was darker than the scary one but still lighter than some of the others I've done and today's result line was way darker than the control line so all is good! Just a shame the lighter test coincided with the disappearing symptoms but there you are. What it definitely has shown me though is that I can't tell anything by the HPTs anymore so what's the point in doing them - I have officially finished!!!
 to you all and I hope you all have a lovely day xxx

DH just told me that he's started a dad to be journal, so sweet!!! He says he might let me read it at some point as long as I accept the fact that there's going to be things along the line of "Boobs are getting bigger, yay" in there!!! I wouldn't expect anything less from him...... I also caught him the other night googling hpts getting lighter and I didn't think it had really worried him - just goes to show that he's putting on the calm face for me and panicking on the inside instead! Bless him.

Oh dear god, I've already eaten a banana and two weetaix today and my stomach just grumbled so loud that people across the room heard!! This is ridiculous, I've just never been this hungry in my life! The really frustrating thing is when I go to eat actual meals like lunch and dinner, I can't eat much and I get full really quickly....... Ah well, no complaining, it's just very embarrassing!
