It all started the night of 9th feb 2008. Geoff (DH) and I had gone back to our hotel after my bro's wedding reception (a little worse for wear) we decided to stay in the bar for a couple more drinks but half way through Geoff quietly announced that he wanted us to start trying for a baby :yipee:
The next day I though I would ease into the subject again to see if it was just a drunken thing he had said (it had been a sore subject for about 3 years after losing an unplanned pregnancy. I wanted to try again but Geoff didn't as he wanted us to be more stable and married) I didn't get an answer straight away as he wanted us to talk more when we got home. After a few days talking he told me he definately wanted to start trying :happydance:

I had a break off my pill (I usually do this once a year otherwise my body messes up and I get periods while taking my pill) in January and 2 natural periods since stopping so we could start straight way. I didn't have much hope for the first cycle of trying but got myself stocked up on pregnancy tests just in case and BD'd as much as poss.

Wednesday 5th March 2008
From looking at my previous cycle I had worked out I was due AF on 5th March, so when I woke up in the morning and nothing had happened I started to think maybe I had been one of the lucky ones and caught straight away. I woke Geoff and told him to make me a cuppa while I took the test. After I poas I left the test in the bedroom and went down stairs for my cuppa.I went to check 5minutes later but couldn't see anything so I left it a further 5mins and told geoff to look. He didn't understand what he was looking for  so I had a look myself and to my suprise there was the faintest line after much twisting and turning under the light geoff managed to see it. I still wasn't convinced and thought it may be an evap line

Thursday 6th March 2008
Another morning and still no sign of :witch: so another test and nothing (cheaper test this time)

Friday 7th...........etc
WOOHOO:bfp: and this time the line was definately there. Geoff went to work really quiet (I think he was hoping/though it would take a little bit longer). He text me in the afternoon and told me he was going to meet his mum in a little bar called Inspires (it is actually in a spire. Not that thats interesting or anything) and tell her over a Leffe (her favourite Belgian beer) so he must be a little excited. His dad didn't say alot and his brother was his usual insensitive self and made some comment about the chances of losing the baby :hissy:

Sat......................blah blah blah
I told my mum and dad and they were over the moon. I went to theirs this weekend as it was the last time I was gonna see my bro before he went to afgan  My news kinda took the sadness off the situation. There was alot of family about that weekend and had asked mum and dad not to say anything but my dad got over excited and told my aunty Mo who then kept making comments about me not drinking all night :dohh:

Not alot happened then til 18th March and then it was just my booking in appointment with my midwife Judy and booking my first scan. Bit of sickness and extremely tired.

Tuesday 6th May
SCAN DAY!! up nice and early to make it to the hospital. Its a nightmare trying to get in there in the morning. I needed to pee all morning but managed to hold on. As soon as baby came on the screen Geoff couldn't stop staring at it. Baby was bouncing around and turning, we got a pic each (pretty expensive at £6 each but totally worth it) and showed Geoffs mum straight away (she works at the hospital and snuck up to see us) she was smitten straight away.My mum came over just to see the pic and wouldn't put it down. Geoff even took his to bed with him :cloud9:

Next Midwife appointment Tuesday 20th May at 9.30 and 20week scan Tuesday 1st July :happydance: I can't wait

I didn't think I'd be updating this for a few days but just had some good news.
Geoff and I have been looking for a new house for a couple of months but in a specific area close to the Hospital, local super market, bus route and his parents (also close to the primary school he wants baby to go to). The particular area is quite sought after and can be expensive due to the brand spanking new hospital. We found a house cheaper than the one we are currently renting and in this area, perfect room for a nursery and a garden etc. Anyway I picked up the applications yesterday but another couple had some to go back too so we were rushing around to get these filled in and back (Geoff ended up leaving work early so we could get it done and in before the agent closed). Just managed it and speaking to the agent she said she would have to contact the landlord with all the details but we had the better chance as we are both employed full time. I have been frantic all day waiting to hear from the agent and finally got a call but as I'm at work I couldn't answer straight away so called them back but the person I needed to speak to was on the phone :hissy: I then got a message off geoff saying the landlord has chosen us :happydance: I'm so happy and excited :happydance: I can finally start getting stuff for babys nursery

My sister- Julia- called me yesterday and started asking me loads of questions about how long it took me to get pregnant after coming off the pill and how long I left it after my period was due before I tested. She then told me her and Jim (her OH) had agreed to start trying :happydance:
I'm so happy for her. She has a little boy (not so little he's 8 already) from a previous relationship and has been wanting to start trying for another one for ages but they had agreed on august. She managed to convince Jim otherwise. I hope this good news continues and she gets her :bfp: soon

I knew something would go wrong for us. Everything has been going so well recently it was bound to happen. I got home last night and Geoff had a face like thunder, the company doing the credit checks had been in touch with our current landlord who had refused to give us a reference before 'checking his records' the guy is the biggest idiot I have ever met.

When we originally applied for our current property it was adviertised as having a newly fitted kitchen. When we moved in it wasn't done we asked the landlord his reply was he was only going to do it if he got £600p/m (this guy fits kitchen for a living). The plaster is falling off 2 bedroom walls (the other owner is a plasterer but the wanted us to pay for it to be done) we found there were fleas in the carpet from the previous tenants pet again we told the landlord and he said he would get it sorted, nothing was ever done. There is just too much wrong with the house.

He doesn't need to check his records we have never had any problem paying the rent he always gets it on time and for the full amount. When Geoff called him last night he got really arsey with him because we hadn't let him know. Again proving his idiocy, he was meant to come round on saturday to measure up for some new windows, we stayed in all day and he didn't show. I had a message on my phone on sunday from him with some cock and bull story about his mate breaking up with his girlfriend

some good news for me, had my midwife appointment and all is well bloods are clear only problem is my iron levels as I am close to aneamia but getting some tablets for that. I heard squeeks (my grandad calls it that coz he calls me bubbles) heartbeat for the first time :cloud9: and thats made the whole thing a bit better. Just scared that we could be homeless in a month.

This is pathetic considering what some other girls are going through on here.

Awww hearing the hb is awesome!! I'm sure it will all work out in the end, atleast with the house you are going through this now and not when you're almost due, sure you will get it sorted!! Big *hugs* and congrats on your little baby!!

I think Geoff got a little bit upset that he couldn't make my appointment yesterday and didn't hear the heartbeat. He ordered me to sit down show him where the midwife held the 'thingy' and then stuck his ear against my belly  I tried to tell him he wouldn't hear it like that. He didn't move for ages and when he did I could see the cogs turning and he then came out with the theory that if he had a glass on my belly he would hear it :dohh: hehehe

He sent me a soppy message earlier which almost made me cry coz he said he loves US both so much. It's the first time he has said anything like that and it's a big thing for him coz he doesn't show his feelings very often
